hmmm some how i cant tell a difference while surfing, and it sure is better tahn typing the addy everytime i go to google

Nope...no spyware.

They give you an option, one DOES report back to google, the other doesn't.

Well Hyde, that would make sense if you are not a Google user. But if you are, why not? (just curious in case of spyware ect...)
