Posted - Mar 04 2003 : 07:57:28 She was born, Virginia Patterson Hensley, in Winchester Virginia (just down the road a bit from my home town). She's buried there and her tombstone bears her last legal name, Virginia Dick. Her friends called her "Ginny".
She got her first national exposure on the Arthur Godfrey show in 1957. (How many of you old farts, besides me, remember that guy? )
She became a country music icon and has a star on Hollywood's walk of fame.
Patsy Cline was killed in a plane crash 40 years ago tomorrow.
