OK I'm gearing up for a ride up the Blue Ridge Parkway (most of it anyway). I'll be heading out of Atlanta at 5am Friday 7/23 and plan on rolling into Boston Sunday (one way trip for the bike).

Anybody close to this route and ready to RIDE?

Didn't have password on this laptop, but good story on your boards there. I did hit the "road snakes" one time and felt a slip. I was surprised at how bad I slipped. Glad you made it I guess I got even luckier. I may slow down a bit based on your story (not that speed had anything to do with you fall. I too always put on the full safety gear. It was hot riding through Pennsylvania too, but you never know when the time is going to come. Life is good and bikes are too.

No, Im on a waiting list for an advanced riders course, unfortunately it wasn't available before I left. Fortunately I was lucky and my instincts were still good.

I just did a 250 mile ride to our vacation spot this week. Almost bit it at 65 mph on a corner to boot.

Can't be bothered describing it again, it's in the TLB pub forums with "Plan B" in the title, but it was a real wake up.

1300+ miles with very little interstate riding. I took the whole Blue Ridge Parkway from
Asheville, NC to the end of Skyline Dr. (ridge along Shenandoah Valley, VA). Great trip no tickets (dumb luck). The only thing that got tired were my eyes. This really is a super touring bike. I'm in Boston now for four days of job interviews (2 a day). Game on and who the ^%$# is doing what where when and how?

That's a kick ass bike. One of my managers ordered one when I was in Hawaii. Took 8 months to get it but that thing would haul ass.
