Fact: rarely known outside of this county ( i think )

Tom Petty was born and raised in my home town , Old Town, Florida ; Dixie county

from what i understand He always knew he would have a place place in music history

biggest shame on the people that allowed what i know only second hand; to have happened

He was so badly treated by the people and the law in this county he swore he would never give dixie county credit with anything to do with his birth or wheree he was raised, people best described as as self righteous rednecks ------- ------ ----- fill in the blanks, not because he broke the law or smoked pot, but i think mainly because he grew long hair and played rock n roll, there are still accuse him of heinious crimes ( but when questioned or asked for proof there is none

what a shame that this county will nnever be able to lay claim to Tom Petty and his accomplishments

just saying something that i felt like saying, truth is still truth

ive seen alot of things wrote about him but this is known as the truth of dixie county
