This phone is a nice phone. However, it departs from the previous line of Windows Mobile phones by offering less user control out of the box. I returned the phone.

I wanted this phone to work out. It's display is very nice with a lot of room. The 16GB of internal memory beat my current t-Mobile Wing. What I wanted was a smart phone - a blend of PDA and cell phone. What the HD7, more to wit: what Windows Mobile 7 is: multimedia cell phone. Microsoft's response to the iPhone is less work and more play.
I know little about the Zune, but I understand the UI for Mobile 7 is based on the Zune. It is an OK interface, but I felt that the more it offered was effectively less in terms of control and customization of the phone's functions. Most likely someone will come up with a handy program to deal with the functionality issues, but the further deficiencies made me uncomfortable with the phone:
No Cut and Paste (such a basic function).
No tethering to allow a shared connection/mobile hot spot (I travel and take my laptop with me).
No Graffiti style interface (I would pay decent money for smart phone modern phone with Palm's graffiti interface - it was faster than texting).
No external memory interface (restriction based on the fact the phone is a multimedia phone, not a smartphone and as such, the encryption for music and movies disallows the portability of data).
Could not stream or download some media (I listen to a certain talk show online, the members perk is being able to listen and download the program when it is not live. The phone choked and could not perform the task despite the format of the media being WMA)

I liked the phone, but it was more media oriented than smart oriented and as such, it did not meet my needs. If you were into a multimedia phone, then I would recommend this one.

If a Droid X wont do it..... My friend has an automatic lie detection app, full planetarium on up tilt, credit card reader, bar code price search for local, lower prices. With directions to the store! It syncs with his laptop for wifi internet on the road. It connects to my netowrk before he knocks on my door with a popup on my screen showing the new bluetooth connection. Converting pictures of documents to PDF files and emailing them home was cool too.

Thats not to mention all the variants popping up using the same cpu/os combo.
