Found the MW4 Compilation set on Amazon. MW Vengeance, Black Knight and Mercs. It has every CD that was too scratched to reinstall from my set. I have Clan and IS Mech Paks, and have patched all three games up.

Now I need to find those mods and upgrades... and a good joystick.

Any links to the major mods that most people are playing would be appreciated.

<<< goes off the MechLab to recreate my old faves ...

mmwuuuuhahahahahaha the Street Sweeper stalks again.

OK, I found PR1 on file planet and on the MW4Mercs website. The one I pulled off file planet was self install. Haven't found MP 3.02a or 3.02a-3.02b. Any ideas where they might be found?

reinstalled all mw4 games since reading the new story by CMOPatrick played through all single player and was alot of fun.
i do miss playing online with OMO even when you guys would go all lights and i had my das with the lbx 60 fly swatter set up , loads of fun seeing the lights slide accross the battle field , lol.

Ok, since there is no response I downloaded the Mech4-Mercenaries game from the original 2 cd's. I then installed the following:
mw 4 Mercenaries PR1 patch. mercpr1.exe dated (can't remember)
Battlefields Mappack Full install. nbcomplete.exe dated 7-28-03
NE Battlefields Mission Play. nbmissionplay.exe
New Arenas Solaris. newarenas.exe dated 7-12-04

This is all I could find on File Planet. I did try to setup my joystick and it wouldn't take any of the twist, pitch forward/back forward/reverse controls. Did take the firing 1-5, launch, etc. Have to see whats up with that. I hope it not I am running a 64bit machine.

Tried to get into a game but I couldn't remember all the initial setups so I'll work on it later..

Any thoughts? I still can't believe this was over 5 years ago AND my thumb is just now getting well and I can actually bend it all the way down after messing it up pulling the damn trigger in those close fights with my Dashi....

So, I have all the games, Mech, BK, Vengence, and of course Mercs. Can someone tell me what I need to download? Is it just the Mercs? Or, should I download all, update all and then search for mappacks?

Yeah Nosey, it went Vengeance, then Black Knight, then Mercs. The Clan and Inner Sphere Mech packs add eight more Mechs and some nice toys to Ven/BK. I got 'em all just because it was available as a set and I wanted to run the campaigns again. Mercs is last and best of the bunch.

A quick Amazon or eBay search should lead you to bargoons in that area.

Going from BF2/COD4 to the MW universe should be like taking a nice long breath of fresh air for those not acquainted. The maps are roomy enough for true tactics and maneuver. Everything weighs quite a few tons, so the action is slow enough to actually think while you fight. No one should be at a comp or connect disadvantage by now, as the games are old enough that we should all be able to run full tilt.


Keep us posted Arcane. We appreciate your efforts.

I will be installing Mechwarrior 4 Mercs Nose so you would need Mercs not Vengence. Mercs has some create mod support and was the final as well as the best multiplayer release.

I use to love Mech Warrior and Steel Warrior (not sure of that name) that was like MW. If I can run this thing on Vista, I might give it a try.

If someone would help me by listing and pointing the upgrades and order including the maps and where they should go, I'd load mine. Brought it from Dallas a couple weeks ago thinking I would download it when I had a couple days!!! I still think anyone making a self-installing CD would make a fortune...Oh, and I found the old CD you made me Arcane with several maps. Although, I have no idea what to do with it..

Thanks for the offer Blue but that isn't the problem. Most of the servers I have are business type servers... they don't have PCI-e slots or AGP. They have an embedded video controller and that's all they really need to be a file / DB / etc type server. What I'll likely do is get my newest 1u server running and then move the website to it. Then we can have the old / new Win2k MW4 Server back online heh heh heh

I wanna kill things that move at sane speeds. Whatever I can do to help. Got a 500 watt power supply less than two years old as well. It wouldn't support my Raptors' voltage, so out it went.

It sure would be nice to have an old-school server up for MW. Those were some golden days for OMO. Lots of initiations, lots of guys on the same channel every night, the formation of BIR.

Let me see if I can find the hardware to do just that Petri! I mean its not like I don't have a bunch of servers... but most of them are "servers" and don't have graphics cards capable of letting the game install. Our Web server does... but I'm not inclined to mess with that

I'll have to dig out my MW4 disks and server setups if I can find them too!

Ahhhh... the good ol' days...
