Posted - Mar 08 2006 : 09:11:41 LOL I got so frustrated that after I finished the tutorial and played a little I actually uninstalled the game in anger. Reinstalled the next day and it's really quite addictive.Just a bit more "relaxed" pace than a normal game. |

Posted - Mar 08 2006 : 08:53:58 Thanks, man. Funny you say that. I spent two hours in the turtorial, found out my ship's gun was bugged and felt overwhelmed with everything and felt it was boring and left. Lol. Could be I was tired and irritated since I looked up to see it was 2am and I'd not done anything but install it and fumble with the tutorial. I'm using the name Fr3akshow, btw, but will also look for you on voice next time I load it up - possibly later today. |

Posted - Mar 07 2006 : 21:45:57 I just downloaded the client tonight and am sitting here waiting for the patch to finish. For some reason, it's downloading at only 46 kb/sec, whereas I normally can get upwards from 250 or so. It's now at 50% with 13 mins to go, sigh...reminds me of having dial up again, only that was at like 4 kbs/sec, lawl.
I'll check this out and see if it's any good...got some 14 day trial period. |

Posted - Feb 21 2006 : 15:35:52 I go by Petrified, Pace by Clawz McDude. In D.E..M Industries (the CEO mistyped in lag - darn Jita). Looking forward to the new cluster as well. I'll add you to my buddies list.
More or less, I rediscovered EVE after a few years hiatus.
Oh... handy chart that explains a lot about targeting, damge, and what all the tracking/falloff/target resolution means: http://www.eve-online.com/guide/en/g26.asp |

Posted - Feb 21 2006 : 10:28:00 Ah finally, OMO discover EVE online : ) Playing it for 5 month now and I like it besides waiting for the stupid skills to finish. Hey Petri, what corp was that with the mercenaries they were at war with, sounds like next door to my place I´m at in EVE. You guys use your OMO names in EVE (?), you can find me under the name Tako Alvarez in the game. New hardware is coming to EVE right now, can´t wait to see if it kills the lag I´m sometimes getting. Will be fun to blow up some pirates with you guys or running some missions.

Posted - Feb 02 2006 : 14:48:10 I'm afraid not. If I had I would have been playing it an not BF2. When I update my PC after the tax return, I plan on getting an nVIDIA card so I can run Descent3 again (ATI stinks as it does not run OPEN GL well at all). I know that some people had been playing around trying to set up Descent 4 based off of the released code from Interplay, but last I checked up on that was a couple years ago and I doubt it has gone far.
... had I the funding I would put together my own corp to design something akin, new, and improved to Descent.
Yeah, Flying a Heli in BF2 is about as close to a Pyro as I can get. Too bad they don't handle the same. |

Posted - Feb 02 2006 : 14:05:12 Petri, have you ever found anything that is current or in development that is anything like the Descent series of games. I sure do miss the mines. I'm having to make do with helicopters in BF2 (when I can get one!).

Posted - Feb 02 2006 : 13:19:15 Cool. I'll see about you getting in tonight.
Add Petrified to your Address Book. Oh, and just so you know: the corp is currently at war (a mercenary corp initiated it) so you will need to keep your eyes open and peeled once you join: they are being paid to fight us, but it is only worth their while if they manage to 'pod' you (podding = death as when your ship is destroyed, all that is left is a pod and if you cannot warp out quickly enough, they will destroy that as well - then you have to have your clone woken up). |

Posted - Jan 31 2006 : 20:19:15 CTF was the only thing WoW had going for it for me. But given A: you pay 15 a month for it and B: it sucks to outlevel the particular range you are trying to stay in. I decided to check EVE out again. It is hard to keep playing it when I keep thinking how much more fun it would be to being doing CTF in Decent 3.
Oh, Aged, I played Beta as well and after release: it seems much better now than then. I will say this, however: Travel Time eats up a lot and getting from point A to point B is easy with Auto-Pilot but annoying when you sit there waiting which is why I sometimes have other things to do while playing EVE.
Since the economy has improved since launch, ships and equipment are cheaper now than they were. Also, you can get buy hunting NPC pirates in the astroid belts as well as running missions. Mining is a course of action you may chose and can yield a lot. But it is not the sole or always best way of making a profit. Besides, if you happen to pick it up and start playing, I'll give you a million Isk and get you into the Corporation I work for. |
