As long as the Fords in the game are better than the ones they put on the street.
HEARTBURN-OMO Posted - Feb 21 2003 : 06:53:39
Just make sure you drive a ford, they are the better vehicle to race around an oval track!
PacemakerOMO Posted - Feb 21 2003 : 06:41:10
Sierra's Nascar 2003.

Pappy the EA game is little better than an Arcade version, their physics engine really sucs for Simulation purists, i wish 1/3rd ppl in Sierras N2K3 would go buy EAs game :), read back to Ageds post about the learning curve in Sierras game, you can get up to sped fairly quick THEN the fun starts!!

Ok now I'm confused. Not knowing, I thought that you guys were referring to EA Sports Nascar 2003, well to my suprise, couldn't find it on the shelves but found Sierra's Nascar 2002 and 2003.

Which Nascar are you guys playing?

cool!..........................geeze, I sound like my kids!
Pappy-OMO Posted - Feb 19 2003 : 13:06:36
I know where Argyle is, I'm actually in NE Ft Worth. Closer to being in Watagua/Keller, just south of Roanoke. We'll have to get together after you get back in town.
HEARTBURN-OMO Posted - Feb 18 2003 : 19:55:42
Pappy, I'm actually in Argyle, about 20 miles north of Fort Worth, just about 4 miles south of Denton. Would like to do that. Be in Phoenix the rest of this week and in Orlando all next week, and in the Carolinas the following week. We'll see what happens, heh.

Yea guys, can't wait to get it going. My daughter said its sitting on my desk in my office and wanted to install it. I told her to keep her hands off it until I get home. heh. Crap, I may have to go buy me one of those super fast, gaming laptops so I can carry the wheel around with me as I travel. heh.

Heartburn? your in Dallas?

I'm in Ft Worth. We need to get together sometime. Shoot me a post when you think would be a good time.

Heartburnt , hte one thing that i see as the single most important issue of racin in this game is this , whether you are on the high line or the low line ,"hold your line " every thing else aside , you have to be able to hold your line, setups are a funny thing , i grew up driving sideways around the corners in the sugarcane fields and theen have a history with dirt tracks , so im comfortable driving with the backend of the car "LOOSE" or sideways, personally i call it driving with the gas pedal, especially on the small tracks
Aged Posted - Feb 17 2003 : 20:16:00
The most important thing is driving consistently. A good setup won't make you a better driver, but a good setup will make a good driver a better one (not that I know first hand, since I'm not a good driver). Actually the default setups aren't bad. Most times that's what I use.
HEARTBURN-OMO Posted - Feb 17 2003 : 19:47:36
Thanks, I will bring patience to the game. First look is it's a little overwhelming when you start studying the setups. Yikes!...oh well, if your gonna race and be good , thats the most important, right? I'll be patient, just be patient with me, hehee.
Aged Posted - Feb 17 2003 : 15:57:59
This game isn't as prone to abuse as MW4. The a-holes are bigger a-holes, but they're not in the majority at all. The good people are as solid as the ones in MW4.

And don't forget, the learning curve is rather steep.

A bit of patience and this game is incredible.

See you on the track.
PacemakerOMO Posted - Feb 17 2003 : 15:54:07
heartburnt when you get ready to go into the game, get on bcom with me i promise i can help you through any rough spots , sometimes the wheel acts up but it stablizes , oh and u will need these setups to be able to run with us , the setup s that come with the game are stable but not NEAR fast enough, just let me know ahead of time what time u might be on at, i made a change in a chassis today and im still amazed at the speed increase
HEARTBURN-OMO Posted - Feb 17 2003 : 15:41:03
Well my wife picked up the game for me this morning while at the mall. I'm in Phoenix this week and will get back to Dallas Thursday nite. That'll give me Thursday night and Friday to get her up and runnin. Heh, can't wait. Havean't been this excited since MW4. Hope it won't have the same result :(
PacemakerOMO Posted - Feb 17 2003 : 12:22:32
Hey Pappy, man im glad to hear your nterested...

2003 nascar yes
most of our steering wheels r made by microsoft, actually im happy with mine and i believe aged is also

FORCE FEED BACK >>> since ive got force feed back my driving has inproved
i have mine at 100%
the learning curve is big enough that it can keep u learning a looooooong time

arcane uses a wheel thats more costly anywhooo :) lol
if u can swing it get the force feed back though
ive raced with a logtech wheel and was not very impressed with it
Pappy-OMO Posted - Feb 17 2003 : 11:49:34
Looks too cool!!! I could even get the wife interested in this. NASCAR 2003 right?

Whats the recommended gear for this slick thing?
And secondly what are you guys using?
PacemakerOMO Posted - Feb 17 2003 : 09:13:03
yes , its nice to have that many heartburnt, we use to run 3 kind of regular for a while, and remember 4 a couple of times, i believe batty is waiting for the game to go down under also, its nice to have just 2 also, knowing that ya got abuddy in the race, its hard ,very hard sometimes not to get seperated though, with the new game it looks like 3 guys that know each other could get together up top , stay there might be able to go to the front , i noticed in yesterdays race that it seemed possible in real life also, but they got screwed up,

harvick was running with his teammate ( robbie gordon) behind him on the top , they sure was coming to the front in a big hurry, and gordon got real loose or bumped it cost harvick the race i think, of course Jr. might changed things anyway imHo
HEARTBURN-OMO Posted - Feb 17 2003 : 06:03:29
What would be real cool is when everyone gets up and running, to have all OMO RACING cars. Sure make one hell of a presence. !
Aged Posted - Feb 16 2003 : 21:34:17
I've been putting the logo on the driver's side headlight.
PacemakerOMO Posted - Feb 16 2003 : 20:02:59
