I have internet services through Verizon. I also have it through my dish service. I keep the verizon for the kids and also I use the access when I travel cause Direcway doesn't have it.. anyway I degress.
With verizon I can set up the complimentary web page. At one time a year or so ago I did that. I thought I made a page in Microsoft whatever it is. I tried to get it up and running but had no luck.
I don't even know the address.
Would someone who knows about this stuff be willing to set it up for me? Nothing fancy, just an empty page. I only want to be able to put siggy's pics, etc. on it so I will have a place to post stuff. I don't care about or worried about passwords, etc. Just need someone to set it up for me and then thru bcom or telephone, walk me through getting to it, putting pics in and taking them out.
I don't know, sounds simple, but it's way over my head.
So if anyone would like to volunteer, I might buy them a six pack or something for the effort.

yea, got the ftp, still in the dark, I found my web page, at least thats what I think it is. but when I try to open it says it can't be found. I tried reading how to get it going but it was all greek to me. There's about 9 things they list that has to be done and it means nothing to me. Hmm.....keep trying.

If they don't have an ftp client, you can go to Tucows and download a free one (or at least an evaluation version). I use Cute ftp myself - good enough that I ended up paying for it.

well, after waiting 45 mins on hold with V customer service, they gave me the website to go too. Gonna try that and see if I can figure it out. Let you know.

Yeah HB, you should be able to go to Verizons site and find out how to activate your web account. If you have already ativated it but can't remember what to do, they can help you too.

That will give you an ftp site that you can store your siggy and such on, much as I do.

My company gives me 10 megs per email addy, and I'm allowed upto 5 email addys.
If I can do it, anyone can.

You don't need a page to do that. Just upload the files and use the URL that includes the file name. e.g. www.something.com/filename.jpg (or .gif, .txt, whatever)
