Posted - Mar 30 2006 : 07:56:49 Man that's weird cus you should only get the message that your running an older version if you didn't patch. Is there a way to run the patch again. I'm not sure if you are using EA downloader or just got the patch from the EA ftp site. |

Posted - Mar 30 2006 : 07:43:48 Yep, had no issues then Wed night tried to get on and couldn't. Haven't had the patience or the time to figure out why, yet. |

Posted - Mar 29 2006 : 20:06:48 Hi Heart ,just covering bases..... did you download 1.22 patch? |

Posted - Mar 29 2006 : 18:01:33 Well, I don't know why but all the sudden when I go to the server screen after loading it tells me the OMO server is playing in a newer version that the one I have? It also asks me to dl BFSF's. I already have it. Go figure. |

Posted - Mar 29 2006 : 17:39:48 Really? I find that Linux servers tend to have the smoothest run-time and higher uptimes (don't need to be rebooted regularly, handles memory well, less chance of buffer overflow, etc.) because it tends to load balance better. I guess it depends on the application running on it.
From the few Linux servers out there, it seemed that they ran better than the Windows versions. Heh, it took me the longest time to discern what that triangle icon was on the server list. It is actually the Linux penguin! |

Posted - Mar 29 2006 : 16:09:15 Just checked with Cujo and he says we are on a windows server and it's more stable than linux for BF2 and there is no support for linux servers.
He also said they didn't change the version number. |

Posted - Mar 29 2006 : 15:53:30 I just realized that the game version is the same as the server version, so we may actually be on a windows server, i.e. our 1.22 client actually shows 1.1.2720-552.0, just like the Linux server files. I would guess the Windows server files installs 1.1.2720-552.0 |

Posted - Mar 29 2006 : 13:51:20 Well I guess we are on a Linux server. I know it's cheaper than a Win2003 Server OS. |

Posted - Mar 29 2006 : 13:28:14 I've been wondering why the version # in my BF2 startup screen doesn't agree with the patch #. |
