Posted - May 23 2006 : 20:56:13 Greetings to the OMO!
I enjoy playing on your server, thanks!
Tonight I was playing as a sniper and made my way to near an umcap air field. I snuck in, layed claymores, then retreated to the fringe of the base. After one of my claymores killed an OMO I was kicked. Sorry if I misunderstood the ruling here but I thought a lone sniper could work in close to an uncap base so long as he did not go into the base and take vehicles (remaining there to kill) or kill from inside the confines of the base.
I await your ruling in this matter.
Thanks for the play and GG OMO!

Ok everybody, SNAFU, everyone back to their routines.
I think we should do it just to see what a Festy rocked to the very foundation of his existance looks like. We already know what a pissed off Festy looks like. |

we should escalate this to the rules committee... oh wait, we don't have a rules committee, I guess we had better form one ad-hoc... of course this would require establishing Principles and Guidelines for the ad-hoc rules committee.. of course this would require that we write, revise, and vote on the Principles and Guidelines for the ad-hoc rules committee!
(oh man, I'm starting to sound like Fuddy...)
LOL Cadaver. As for the sniping though I always assumed we took some of the old OTH Desert Combat rules on sniping. That was allowed even into an uncap base. The claymore however would have definately violated the rule. |

Posted - May 24 2006 : 23:07:44 Probably not Petri. I've gotten used to the more structured and less less uptight nature of TLB.
But it would be a great start, and a vast improvement in the club IMHO. Don't get me started.

Posted - May 24 2006 : 20:30:47 Festus, you know us and how likely it is that 'rules' could ever be agreed upon let alone a comittee formed to deal with the concept.
Think about it: does oil and water mix? |

Posted - May 24 2006 : 10:00:03 I see how much you love the pilots Festy. You can snipe from any range if you have all the flags. If you don't, the no attacking the uncap is alway in play. You can get probably get away with it if you are killing non-OMOs (assuming they don't complain in chat), but doing it to an admin or someone who is on vent is a sure way to an early exit. I am actually starting to feel like we should adopt BCO's rule of no attacking uncap EVER. At least it would eliminate all the gray areas.

Posted - May 24 2006 : 08:20:50 Now see, I never knew you absolutely forbid Sniping into the uncap. Seems a little obsessive personally, but its not my server so I will remember that in the future.
Sure you guys won't allow snipers to hit the uncaps from range? Come on, that way those prissy pants flyboys have to dance all the way to their planes.

Posted - May 24 2006 : 08:05:09 Its also not a good idea to wink at Festus. he could take it the wrong way, leave and come back as a dictator. You wouldn't want that to happen would you? |
