Posted - Jul 29 2006 : 23:46:45 Today my videocard overheated again and I didn't have any signal going to my monitor. There was a whole lot of noise and beeping in my headphones.
I think that my motherboard shut the videocard down to prevent it from melting. I took the case cover off and then plugged in a regular fan pointed at my computer. A whole lot of air is being blown at my computer components and it seems to have solved the problem, with an added bonus of a slightly better framerate. |

Posted - Jul 29 2006 : 18:41:43 I was getting something flashing on my screen but it was so quick couldn't tell what it was. It looked like another screen or maybe the same screen but way lower cus the mini map or something was 2/3 of the way down the screen. Never saw it before just last night. Also I can hear a real faint beep sometimes since I put the X1900XT in. I turned on Over Drive so maybe it has something to do with that. I can't figure how to turn OD off now. |

Posted - Jul 29 2006 : 12:38:25 That's funny Cack, I've been getting the samething from my 6800 GT OC. In fact, I have actually crashed more in the last week or so then I have ever playing this game. I wonder if the server or maybe the patch may have something to do with that? |

Posted - Jul 29 2006 : 08:39:29 You are a bad, bad brother! When I build computers for clients I charge a maximum of $200 profit, for friends I charge between $50 to $100, and for immediate and girlfriend; the cost of the parts.
Come to think of it, I really need to upgrade my computer as I am getting pretty crappy framerates lately, and last night I think my videocard overheated as it gave me some cool kaleidoscope effects in little squares that covered the whole screen. Alas, I am in saving mode for a car and ultimately a down payment on a house. Approximately 1/5 of the way there already. |

That's how I got my comp and keep it going. Execept it's with a guy that works for me and he is like Nardisp, he always has the best stuff and updates regulary and gives/sells me the updates. Which is sweet as he does the work for me. So, it's not a bad deal in my case. In your case, sounds like Nardi is taking you to the cleaners?? lol.
LOL......The Admiral thinks he has what I listed earlier...................

Posted - Jul 29 2006 : 05:10:37 Heartburn - I'm beginning to notice a trend with the Nardisp . The last three times he's built my computer {which he tells me is "top of the line" - "latest and greatest" - "unbeatable" - "better components don't even exist" }, he hands me a big fat bill when he's done , and within one week builds an even bigger machine for himself . I'm beginning to wonder....I'm convinced there might be a connection....Hmmm.....
However, "size doesn't matter"......at least that's what my girlfriend tells me and I'm sticking to it.
Nardisp , we'll settle this on the battlefield, beyatch! |

The Admiral hardly knows a thing about computers. Although, he is an expert on "DEFIBRILLATORS"!!!
For most of our "no-name" clan, I actually custom built the pc's. Most of us have 30" Syntax LCD's and run AMD Athlon 64 processors.
The Admiral's specs are listed below: Lian-Li Case AMD 3800+ Processor 2Gigs RAM ATI X800XL 256MB video card Audigy X-Fi sound card 30" Syntax LCD Monitor Logitech MX1000 Z-Board keyboard
My specs are as follows: Lian-Li Case AMD 4400+ X2 Dual-Core 2Gigs RAM ATI X1900XT 512MB video card Audigy X-Fi sound card 30" Syntax LCD Monitor Logitech G7 Mouse Saitek Eclipse Keyboard (2) Western Digital Raptors - RAID

Since I wasn't there, besides Spi and his recently revealed brother, who else forms this band of no names? Did they kick some OMO butt?
Well let's see there's Admiralspi, Nardisp, "something"KidCurry, "A whole bunch a numbers"Dave, qfoos?, Olddude and of yes some other dudes. There were alot of regs there.
Quite frankly I was suprised to see so many regulars banded together. I was even more suprised when they handed our @#$#$#@ to us.
All killlers, the bunch of 'em.
That was awesome! Glad to have you around.

Older - It wasn't a butt kicking but we did have two come from behind victories {with 30-40 point deficits}, ending in close games . We are a ragtag band of electrical engineers {around 25-35 years of age} representing Kansas City.
{read with humor } However, you'll come to recognize us only by the sound of our footsteps trampling the remains of you and your OMO brethren . The gauntlet is thrown, and we've picked it up. "Against" it shall be. We'll Reign Death from the Midweatht .

Posted - Jul 28 2006 : 15:56:15 Levitra - I'll have my brother {The Nardisp } post my PC stats. I really don't have a clue what I'm running. He builds it and sends me the bill. I do, however, use a Z-board for BF2. |

Posted - Jul 28 2006 : 14:44:28 Last night was nothing more than an unofficial scrimmage with all the might we could muster. It was the first time that all the players from my workplace could agree to get together at the same time. At best, we can only roll nine deep, which might impact the potential for a future official scrimmage. Rather, look for us from time to time to bring some pain , take some , and bail before the hammer comes down .
Respectfully ,
The Admiral

Posted - Jul 28 2006 : 13:14:58 That same thought crossed my mind Specimen. Looked like most of them were names I see on our server on a pretty regular basis. I don't believe any of them have inquired about membership. Maybe too young or just not interested in formally joining a group. I believe a couple of them, like Admiralspi, have posted here a few times. Who knows what evil lurks in the minds of BF2 addicts? LOL! |
