Posted - Apr 13 2008 : 11:51:49 Hey guys,
Not been around much, as I am working on a new mod with some of the guys from Project Reality. The new mod is called Offworld: Fall of Mars.
We are doing it in BF2 (not 2142) and it gives people without 2142 something fun to try. We have come up with some pretty good physics for some light vertical take off and landing craft. The mod is based on Mars and the maps are done by using real NASA and European Space Agency photos and topographic maps. It's basically like being on an exact 3D copy of the Mars surface.
You can find details and our open DEV forums where you can read about progress, etc at www.offworldmod.com
Also, we just released the first public beta/demo this weekend. Planetbattlefield.com has put up a DL miror for us here http://planetbattlefield.gamespy.com/fullstory.php?id=150111 |

We have only been working on it for a couple months now, but we put out the public beta/demo last week to get peoples feedback on things. We are aiming for a very different mod for BF2 than anything you have seen, and at this point a "flying only" mod. If interest is there, we may move into things like ground pounding, AA / Tanks, etc., but that is yet to be seen. |
