the logitech rebate is broken down, % keyboard, mouse, headset. mite be worth it to me... Fuddy posted elsewhere his pre-order of BF2 cost him in the long run. re: Olders post above, i cannot see how fun it would be for him to start as a general... |

Posted - Aug 09 2006 : 06:47:51 Is it worth pre-ording it, or just getting it from BEST BUY or WALMART. I pre-ordered BF2 only to find that I could have purchased it earlier and for less cost just by going to the local stores.

Posted - Aug 08 2006 : 16:02:06 It looks like it is just a USB drive shaped like a dog tag with BF2142 logo. People have interpreted that there is some content pre-loaded, but I didn't read it that way. The rank up is probably an in-game bump to the FIRST promotion, i.e. a throwaway as far as gameplay goes. Here's a quote from an IGN article awhile back, "There are now 43 ranks to achieve, allowing veterans and die-hard players the ability to REALLY gain prestige and status. Even casual players will find this new number of ranks to be a welcome change. Why? According to EA Senior Producer Rich Briggs, you should get your first promotion within the FIRST HALF HOUR. This means that players get into the game rather quickly and begin ranking up (whereas in the first version of BF2, it took a fair amount of time). " |
