Posted - Jun 08 2008 : 19:42:09 So... is the OMO server going the way of the BF2 and 2142 server? I rarely see it in use now a-days.
BCO? OMO? Should we pull the plug? |

Posted - Jun 23 2008 : 07:59:03 I am will Fossil (even though he is a trader and sleeps with the enemy ;) ). AoC makes you forget all the other games. AoC FTW! |

Posted - Jun 18 2008 : 15:28:33 CoD4 was just a filler until AoC came out, now I'm all about the AoC and doubt I'd play it or another FPS for a long time. I'm almost to 80 and then I'll start Alting my ass off and doing city sieges!

Posted - Jun 18 2008 : 14:15:00 Are you guys renting a server? If so, it might be worth your while to check into a business broadband line and run a server from home. This is what I do and it is much cheaper, plus, for me it is a tax deduction. You can have multiple ip's too and run any server you wish, at anytime. The only drawback to this is that the pipe might not be as large as you would get by renting a server.
On the Crysis front, there is a Jurassic Park mod coming down the pike too, which looks damn cool. |

Posted - Jun 10 2008 : 17:26:03 I like CoD4 as it has potential to stay playable until the next "big thing" appears. Like all shooters they get boring if you play it the same way every time without a goal and tactics. I think it would be fun to divide into equal/fair teams and play some scrimages with a passworded server once in a while. CoD lacks team tactics only because you really never play with any one team very long to develop a strategy. To me this is why CoD4 got old for some so fast. Maybe going away from hardcore may be worth looking at also. Just thoughts...... It may be time for me to go back to Company of Heroes. |

Posted - Jun 09 2008 : 18:57:25 I don't think we need another BF2 Server is everyone will just support Bloody's. Bloody's is not full all the time. Usually, we start out on BAD server and when we get enough players, we move to Bloody's. Most nights we only get 4-8 players..We are getting alot of BCO-OMO's in the car racing thing. It's an ok fill in but I wouldn't spend any money on it. Not near as good as NASCAR 2003. I miss that ole guy barking in my ear... |

Posted - Jun 09 2008 : 18:15:09 I've noticed that. Makes me wonder if we should restart a BF2 server. |

Posted - Jun 09 2008 : 16:16:29 The only reason I haven't been playing is when I come on there is no one in Vent so I check BCO vent and they are either racing or playing BF2. I go where the crowd is. I have been having more fun in BF2 than CoD tho. |

Posted - Jun 09 2008 : 13:02:14 I do think Crysis will generate alot of interest. If you like ground pounding, shooting bots, flying, group gameplay, action, choices in machines, etc. You will love Crysis.. |

Posted - Jun 09 2008 : 12:54:10 According to my Rcon there are none of the new maps in the rotation. Server was on standby so I restarted it. |

Posted - Jun 09 2008 : 08:52:02 Crysis by itself may not be good - as far as running our own server, but the OMO have a big heart for Mech Warrior. But that depends on the OMO going for it.
BFHeroes will garner intetest I am sure.

Posted - Jun 09 2008 : 08:27:48 I have been saying the same thing about our BF2 server. It's a money pit (IMHO) and think we need to pull the plug on it too.
It seems that many are still playing BF2, but on other random servers. It seems that a handful are playing COD4, but again on random servers. It seems most the activity as of late is with Project Torque and AoC.
BF Heroes is the next thing to be big (my guess) but this will be later in the year and will be free public servers, so no need for a server there. AoC seems to be a long term game and is gaining a little bit of steam slowly with OMO's (not any other BCO's I know of ) but that is public PTP servers. I can see down the road maybe some Crysis mods being good, but they will be like any other unranked mod for BF2 and will have play for a month or so then gone, so not a real good use of a server unless you have one already.
If I were OMO, I would dump the COD4 server and use the money to get an actual web page host and re vamp your forums, etc. Serious, it is cheap and goes a long way to improving the community and your time spent fixing things (once set up). We use 1and1.com for our hosting and it's pretty dang cheap. I think we pay $3.99 a month. |

Posted - Jun 09 2008 : 08:01:52 I was thinking that. Torque has taken some of us away. |

Posted - Jun 09 2008 : 07:49:09 New maps are good, Creek is awesome. Need to setup a CoD4 night real soon. I've been playing on ATF server as of late. |

Posted - Jun 09 2008 : 07:41:21 Let us know when the new maps are in because I'd like to try them. I just bought Mass Effect and I've been playing that all weekend but I'd do COD4 with new maps. |

Posted - Jun 08 2008 : 22:43:35 The server has been pretty empty prior to the 1.6 patch release. However, I thought I added the new maps in. I'll double check that. |
