From the MekTek website...
quote: 8 months of hard work and it's ready.
File hosts are being contacted - watch the front page of your favourite community web-sites or check out http://www.newbattlefields.com for details of mirrors as they go up.
We're releasing in two formats -
Complete install - just under 200 megs. This contains absolutely everything, including the demo content.
Mission and terrain breakdown - If you only want to download the types of missions you enjoy, we've broken down the new content into four mission packs and three terrain packs.
I know I'll be watching that site.

I think Mektek's x-pack with the new Mech's is going to be THE spark, but I've got to give credit to Ash and the guys over at Alpha Strike who put together the New Battlefields pack.
There are 7 SP missions that you launch from "Instant Action". Those missions pretty much blow away anything put out by the Dev's. They're a bit disjointed because you don't get the smooth transition you do in the SP campaign, and the backstory isn't that obvious, but it's well worth the download.
The missions themselves are quite difficult to successfully complete, and provide a real challenge in SP, even on regular. The player will need to put a lot of thought into how to accomplish the objectives, and there are quite a few little suprises in every mission.
Haven't had a chance to try it yet, but I'm guessing that playing the missions in MP would be outstanding!!!
The maps include a re-vamping of a couple of earlier Custom maps (Bear Trap comes to mind), and there are also some new maps. These maps are a welcome breath of fresh air in and of themselves, and a lot of fun to play on.
Yeah, I know that I sound like an advert for New Battlefields, but I'm really enjoying the heck out of it. What can I say?

Never argue with an idiot, they will just drag you down to their level and beat you with experience. |

I tried it, it's not half-bad. A lot of uber-combat in it... LBX20 = my best friend.
