Hi peeps! Was just wondering if any of you wanted a friendly scrim sometime in November? It could either be on your server or our brand new one: IP 69.9.177.223:14567 (as given to me by our server admin; DK Hoezone). Preferrably on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday evening. I must tell you all that we are NOT a ladder clan. We only ask and give friendly scrims with peeps that share our common interests, mainly a love for the game and a sense of pride and honor. Let me know what you think?

Sounds good to me Lone. Lets set a date and see what happens. Saturday will likely be the best day of the week. I should also say that the OMO are notorious for not making the scene on "scheduled" events . BUT... ya never know . If enough members are not scheduled for transplant surgery, CAT scans, MRI's, occupational therapy, physical therapy, bowel cleansing , hyperbaric treatments, or wheelchair repairs... we might get a good turnout !!!
I am sure some other members will post on this soon. We will see how it goes.

However, most nights are populated a lot more, it just needs the addition of a few nosehairs.

Ok OMO! Get yer gunbelts on...(in his best Gunsmoke Festus voice)...looks like theirs gonna be a gunfight! All we need now is to hammer out some of the details. Here are the questions:
1. How many per team?
2. Who's server?
3. What map(s)?
4. Will it be the best of 3?
5. Will the maps have a time limit? If so what?

As an independent operator, may I suggest;
1. #/Team.
As many as you can get. The final number being determined by the group at the scrimmage that has the fewest players. The teams would then be even sided, or the smaller team might allow the other to have 1-2 more, but its up to them.
2. Server.
Don't matter. Contact Medicare-OMO and work it out.
3. Maps.
Im not too familiar with the map names yet, but have a few I'd like to see.
Bridge
2 Rivers
Coastal Hammer (can be fun if you break out)
Dustbowl
That one with the shipyard and town....
Flip a coin and for the first map the winner decides what "side" they will be. After that the loser of the previous game always picks their side first.
I'd say best of 5 or 7, and play 'em all even if you are getting skunked.
4. Time Limit.
45 minutes sounds good.

Lone,
I am sure some tweaking (by both OMO and DK) will have to be done here but here are some suggestions.
1. How many per team? ... I would predict 6 - 10 OMO will likely make the scene.
2. Who's server? ... IF it's OK with the DK let's say the OMO server. I am sure some of you guys have "The All Seeing Eye" or some other means to check the settings (tickets, friendly fire, time limits, cam views, etc.) on our server. Let us know if current settings are OK for the scrim. We will likely need to make arrangements to Password the server during the scrim so we dont have "unauthorized" peeps showin up.
3. What maps? ... How does Stalingrad/Dust Bowl/Ohaha Beach grab ya?? We could play each map twice with each squad getting a chance to play both the blue and red teams. On each map DK will play as the blue team first, then on the second play DK switches to red.
4. Will it be best of 3? ... At the end of the 6 rounds/maps to be played which ever squad has won the most maps is DA WINNAH ! We play the maps with the settings agreed upon and the squad that gains a Minor OR Major victory has won. In the event of a Draw we replay the map... we dont want no stinkin TIES!  !! If we are tied at the end of the 6 rounds we could play a "winner take all" map, say...Basrahs Edge. hmmmmm.... we would need some way to decide which squad gets choice of playing blue or red here... suggestions?
5. Will the maps have a time limit? ... Lets play the maps as they are normally played on the server. That would mean time limits for each map would be in effect.
OK you OMO lot... jump in here and help out. Will these guidelines be acceptable? Anyone have further to add?? LET THE NEGOTIATIONS BEGIN !!!!!

GAH !!
Forgot to cover voice coms. I am betting that DK uses voice coms of some type. We use TeamSpeak. I think it would be great to get you DK dooods on TS with us for the scrim. Each squad could have their own channels/rooms for "in battle" coms but then we could all get together for chat when we are not "engaging" the ENEMY!!
Let us know if this is possible Lone... we will make arrangements to get you on our TS server!

If we play a three maps twice on our current server settings, the scrim could be as long as 3 hours. Some map punch tickets down faster, so it may be less than that. I might recommend that we do a best of three maps played once each. We can all retire after the "official" competition for further play on the server after it is opened back to the public. If we do a long scrim, we each may end up losing players do to RL issues (kids, connections, etc).
As far as map choices. If we use the format above, each team choice one map that they want. Then throw in a second choice. We can "flip" a coin some how and winner gets their pick.
At any rate, that is just my input. Whatever the masses agree on is fine with me.

hmmmm, good point Medi. Perhaps we better keep it to just the best outa 3.
Lone, when ya check in here go ahead and work out with the other DK which map you wanna use. We will choose one then we will all have to agree on the third map.

Medi, I'm assuming it will be a closed server for the 'scrim'. Therefore, will it be a password entry, and if so, will it just be passed on verbally on teamspeak at the time?

I'm game and I'll mark my calender so as I don't go travelin'. It seems that this is a DK vs OMO scrim. Therefore the RULE should be no NON members need apply. However if'n one side looks like they are coming up short before GAME DAY, well I'd say that's a fine time for some recruitin'. There's one guy I'm thinkin' of for us OMOs. If we can get his $#@ back in the club, well we'd be a force to recon with. I know the time is right now Festy so get the TAG ON, you can save face here and cover my #$@ at the same time ( does that mean your face looks like my $#@ ?).
