hey all, was playing on your server last night, enjoyed myself quite a bit. i'm actually from Reactor Gaming Community, but we are having problems filling our server, so i joined yours, had fun and want to come back.

i do have a question, i can't find any "rules" regarding your BF2 server. i noticed peeps getting warned and kicked last night for stuff like language, ping, tk'ing etc. which is all cool. i am wondering what the no-no's are ie. base camping without flags (think i saw a dude get kicked for that too) just so i don't tick anyone off.

Cheers!

Hello Aedes, thank you for your interest in playing on our server. We are at this time putting together the list of 'rules' pertaining to the BF2 server, most of which are standard and relate to respect, bad language etc. However, as you note, rules relating to base camping and slot priority are not immediately apparent and this is being addressed.
Catheter_OMO and Gort_OMO are our two main server admins and you could email or private message them for further details.

Alternatively, you might want join our teamspeak server and talk to one of the 'old guys'.

Hey Aedes, Thanks for playing our server. We have completed the server rules and waiting for an admin to sticky them for us.
As far as getting kicked for base camping. I was the one that kicked you. Despite the server not saying specifically what the rules are pertaining to base camping, you chose to ignore at least 3 warnings from me about base camping. I'm sorry you got kicked, however in order to maintain what we consider a fair and balance game, base camping without having all the flags is against our rules.I don't think you were out of the game for more than a minute or two. That's the good thing about getting kicked.
Your welcome to play anytime, we hold no grudges here unless you act like a smacktard and keep coming back and doing the same thing.
Get on our teamspeak and visit/play with us. We're not that bad a bunch, except if you run into this guy called Nosehair, then just remember he was here a little before most of us and we haven't figured out a way to get rid of him yet.

See ya on the field...

IMHO, tho I won't disrespect OMO and not follow their rules, a BASECAMPING rule in BF2 is a waste of time or at best ridiculous.

On several maps each sides assets are within their UNCAPable base, necessitating infiltration of the base to destroy assets such as UAV and Artillery. As a compromise, the most that should be done is restrict assault upon uncappable bases to person ON FOOT, with no vehicles. Why? Because you can kill peeps with a vehicle by the bucket load, but you can spen all day firing shells into a UAV trailer and never take it down.

Arty strikes on UNCAPS is a bit awkward, but keeping within my philosophy ("PUCK 'EM THE BIG BABIES") it should even be allowed.

Of course my opinion does not reflect OMOS, god knows dats the truth, but many other groups have adopted the same philosophy, even tho it was different in BF1942 and DC Final.

thanks for your reply, but you got the wrong dude. i never got kicked from your server, i only said i "SAW" someone get kicked for it. i was just wondering what the rules were so that "I" didn't get kicked. i don't tend to base camp unless you consider bombing with a jet base camping.

Cheers!

btw ... server crash tonight? (thursday)

No problem. Thought you were the one I kicked. I kicked. and Festus a majority of the maps have a base that can't be conquered. We're only saying if you don't have all the flags and there's a base, you can't bomb it with arty, bomb it with planes or helis or any other vehicle. You are allowed to come in and take out UAV and Artillery and you can drive whatever you want out of the base. However, you can't stay and kill soldiers and destroy assets. And if you get caught in our base and a flag turns somewhere else, you have to exit immediately. Now if you have all the flags then come in and blow us the hell up!
That's not hard to understand and I have played this way through DC and on several other BF2 maps. I'm sorry you don't support it, however, we have discussed it and that's the way it is.
and Aedes, our server was working great tonight. If you couldn't get in try going to Teamspeak and getting on and let us know your having a problem getting in and we'll bump festus to let you in 0o0

A month? Sorry I must have entered the Joke forum by mustake :D

Maybe we could just copy and past the OTH server rules and then edit them to our liking. After all they have 2 of the best servers, besides ours, and they have delt with most of the problems arising in servers.

personally, if you cant cap it, dont camp it. other than that, it takes teamwork to do anything and good teamwork to truly dominate. single digit campers here and there really shouldnt be that big of a deal.
