You only need 7 with knife and pistol. My pistol wasn't that bad. I killed the same guy 6 times. I guess he got pissed and just kept coming back. craneman He better get a cloak of invisability next time :D
I just kept hiding near a flag and in site of the spawn area. When they spawned I would start firing. I was using spec opps so they couldn't hear the rounds and had no idea where I was until after the 3rd time. He tried to get me with a shotgun but only got half my life as I shot him between the eyes. After that I moved to the oppisite side of the spawn area and he came right back and I got him again, and again, and again.
He is now ranked as my best victim :)

BTW congrats on getting 20K points tonight, but I guess you know, first sergeant is not available after you get master. Make sure you get all the basic before you hit 50K... so you can sergeant major.
Remember, you can get the kit combat badges by using the kit with armor, air or commander. You don't actually have to snipe. The knife, pistol and explosive has to be done the hard way. I got a bunch of the basic badges by being a commander or armor. I just got my expert engineer badge tonight using the bomber.
What was the other site that grandeade mentioned that listed even more requirements like number of games, hours played etc..

He was talking about bf2tracker.com Yea I have everything except knife and demolition and I haven't seen demolition on any of the required list.
I got my Master Sergeant this morning. I guess it takes awhile for the states to catch up. The way I see it is, I'll get First Seargeant if and when I get my basic knife badge. The other thing I'm wondering about is I now have 40 knife kills, and I've heard if you get 50 before you get the 7 in a round you'll get the Veteran knife badge instead of the basic and it may keep me from getting First Sergeant.
I've had a round where I got 5 and a round last night where I got 4 but the tickets run out before I can get 7.

yep, haven't paid too much attention to the stats but I have 48 knife kills and haven't earned my basic knife. So, I guess when I get two more kills I won't get the basic and according to you guys I won't get something else. Oh well, I still kill ya.

This is what I was mentioning in my post. You have to get the badges before you get to 20K. Once you get Master Sergeant, you can't get First Sergeant. It is an either or, but not both. Just make sure you get the badges before 50K so you can get the Sergeant Major, instead of Master Gunnery Sergeant.
Also, I just figured out that the time, point and game info that grandeade mentioned are the estimates to the next promotion.

Where did you read that the Master Sergeant and First Seargeant were an either or situation?

I have experienced it myself as well as reading it on multiple boards. It wasn't something that Dice anticipated when they reduced the requirements. Before, this probably wouldn't have been an issue since the First and Master Sergeant didn't happen until some ridiculous point total where you would have plenty of time to get the badges.
Hopefully they fix it on the stats server side, but I doubt it. I have all the badges and hope it works for the next promotion.

Master Sargeant and First Sargeant are the same pay grade in the military, so it makes sense that they would not be one after the other. First Sargeant is a higher qualification of the same promotion. Just my 2 cents without knowing a thing about how the game actually works.
