well i been following this game forever. hey its a wing commander thing. any who, if any of u guys are thinking of picking up this little game, i would be interested in hosting a server for an all OMO space corp, against all comers,, well maybe not festus, cause i heard hes got it coming any way  seriously, when its released next month, lets fly together in multi.

i hope, like you, that the game will be released next month. BUT i really doubt it. The game has already been delayed twice....for 3 years it has been under development..... so how come you r saying it'll be here soon ?

I'm beginning to get pretty skeptical about games that take so long to develop and are postponed repeatedly.
Remember ORB?
I think that they keep having to rejig it and it ends up being technically not as strong as it should have been and they eventually push it out the door in hopes of recovering some cash from us.

Well... I've been waiting for this game like no other.
I'm a Chris Roberts fan and a Wing Commander fan.
Although Freelancer will not be what it was going to be long ago (Erin and Chris have both moved on to different things)... it is still the only thing out there right now. From all the beta previews I have read this will be a damn good game. Should it have been released a year or two ago... sure but WTF.
I've got it on preorder. I'll have a server running but... WingCom... I would love to fly with you on your server if you would have me.
I guess I'm just a crazy space sim guy. Privateer (1 and 2) Frontier, Elite, Independance War (1 and 2)... lots of obsure titles (Ares Rising anyone?)... Yep, I'll be there.

right now the release date is march 6. and it looks like it may make it. although no word on gold status yet. it looks like multi will be about 4 pilots, either playing co-op or deathmatch. i tryed a little bit of this on starlancer, and it was fun , but not too many peeps online.
HOT UPDATE!!! freelancer went gold friday, and will ship march 4. WHOO HOO
2ND HOT UPDATE!! lancers reactor, has created a dedicated server on a T3 line running dual 1.3 gig processors. to date it has run successfully with 45 pilots!! this server will be persistent

Yeah Wing.... I check LancerReactor at least once a week since StarLancer came out. There were a lot of Freelancer sites up at one time but over the years Lancer's the only one that "kept the faith".
According to the post they even beat their own internal "Gold" date by one day.
