Been on with some of the guys for the past few months. Last night was asked if I was interested in joining up.
I'd like to take you guys up on that if possible.

My info:
Born April '74 (yup...still kinda young'n)
Southern California
Worst OMO Ping <78
On old Ventrilo version
Great homemade PC (XP3200, 1.5GB RAM, Radeon X800 Pro-256)
Logitch Joystick...fly a little
Always have my younger brother, GreenMyriad, to cover my back (he's only 21)

If so, would be interested in
[OMO] Venerable
or
[OMO] Senescent
if they're available...

Let me know what I need to do or how to get initiated if the offer still stands.

Thanks, as always!

arggggggg, yer a few years short on the age there socal. We have bantered around exceptions to the 35 rule. It's a longer than long internal debate. We are honored that you have expressed an interest and will continue to kill you on a regular basis.

I'll let others post their opinions now.

I had mentioned that Nosehair, but the guys on last night thought they could stretch the rules.

Either way, I'll continue to keep 2ndAmendment busy in his armor while you guys fly around and rack up kills.

Hard to find OMO names that aren't REALLY old sounding anyway :)) You guys got it easy!

Don't mind these grumpy old men. I use "sarchasm" with them all the time (sarchasm=The gulf between the author of sarcastic wit and the person who doesn't get it.) Synapses don't fire like they used to. We will have our discussion and figure this out.

Producing chasms is a veritable profession here in OMO seconded only by a lust for collecting medals in BF2.

So Cal, don't be too concerned by Nosey's comments as they only have credence in his 'extra special squad of special something-or-others' which of late has been disbanded after their latest humiliating defeat.

Anyone that uses an AMD processor shows intelligence and discression over the norm, if only you had an nvidia video card and a monitor(preferably a Viewsonic VX922), then you would have my vote.

However, now we're going to have to have a BIG debate!

Bah! I only have the Syncmaster 19" flat screen CRT. Worthless P.O.S.!!!! Soon to go on the 1080p 53" HDTV...wifey will love that move!

As for Radeon...just easier to update drivers overall...not to mention about $100 cheaper for similar benchmarks, typically.

No offense taken by Nosehair. I figure he's in bed by 8:00, so when I get on at 10:00 pacific, it's usually just Older_than_your_dad and Catheter and maybe a couple other guys burning the midnight oil. He won't even notice I'm around.

"bantered around exceptions to the 35 rule."

There are no rules. 35 is a guideline and it has been excepted several times in the past. In this particular case, it sounds like we approached him to join. That being the case, I think we have something to discuss.

As I recall, prospective members that were younger than 35 got a little more scrutiny on how well they fit in. I'll let the people that know SoCal comment on his desirability/appropriateness/maturity/whatever.

Besides, not having a rule or following a guideline to the letter will annoy the crap out of Festus and that is always worth the effort.

SoCal originally posted on the membership forum back around Oct. 10. He has done everything that most others have been asked to do, i.e. play on the server, use vent, etc. He has also contributed to the server fund. The biggest issue seems to be that there are few OMO left on the server by the time him and his brother show up. One night this week, I don't think he started playing until 10 or 11 PST.

Gee, he even came up with a name... I still think someone needs to take Hair Plug.

Ya..as some of the guys know, my 11 month old son keeps me tied up. I usually get him to bed around 9 or 10 then get on for 2-3 hour spurts. Would average about 4-5 nights/week. May not be able to commit to all scrims. Totally understand if decision is "no". Will still do my best to kill each and every one of you as often as I can, and will contribute to the server as long as I play on it.

Nope. No rule. There is, however, a TRADITION.

40's young around here Steel.

And Festus.........god I thought I wasn't going to type that name anymore..........

You've been posting a bunch here lately, good to see you around. I know you still love us as you keep comin' back.

BP I can not believe you are letting this guy suck you into the rule thing....LOL

Festus has no idea of all the rules we have implemented in the member forums last year. Sufice it to say that the thread "OMO New Rules For All Time" spelled out pretty clearly how we are to conduct ourselves in pulic forums. So I want to state here that festus is a _________.

whoops almost slipped up there.

um back to the Rules For All Time clarification. God we had fun in those days didn't we. I mean the way conducted ourselves was just a total riot. I couldn't believe how entertaining it all was. It must have been because I never took it too serious. I guess it was for some.

The Rule states in Section 2 Article #4 paragraph 2 "No person shall be admitted under the age of 35 unless a member feels differently".

I just get a chuckle watching you guys repeat yourselves over and over again.

But hey....thats a sign of aging anyhow. Anyhow, I get a chuckle out of watching you guys repeat yourselves over and over again.

Glad to see that OMO has such new blood and increased numbers, it was sorely overdue. I still count many of you as friends so I drop buy often to see what you are up to. Except Pacemaker...that crazy hillbilly redneck calls me at work.....
