Yeah baby YEAH..... I think my quality of play is really going to shoot up after the new comp is hea
I order a refurbished dell ( I really wanted the support....been reading alot but not quite rdy to build from scatch)

Any who here are the numbers for the geeks
( I'm on my way to geekdom )

P4 2.4
512 ddram
xp pro
and..................
Radeon 2700 PRO
120 HD
w/ shipping
$1500

Those are the things that mattered to me. the 8250 Dells are the highend home user setup so I feel like the rest of the system will support all this POWA

Very Cool, make sure the DDR RAM is 2700 /333 if possible, or the fastest they have..

could be a short coming on a number i don't quite get. what's that PC 1066 (512 MB PC1066 RDRAM (2 RIMMs) ), smelly said PC 2700/333. is that going to slow somthing down

There are two different memory standards right now... RDRAM and DDR, PC1066 is good, but a little more expensive to upgrade right now compared to DDR RAM, $10, per 128MB so who cares. Two different standards, two different fights, who's right, I don't know... your 1066 is good for P4's, and a good match for the 533 FSB if that is what your getting on the motherboard... which if it is the top of the line Dell, then it should be FSB533. You are getting two phycial chips, 256 each chip, if your motherboard only has two slots for memory, then you are full and would have to pull one or both chips if you want to go above 512MB.

Final word... I don't know who's right and who cares.... Intel and IBM, pushes RDRAM, others push DDR... DDR400 is the fastest out their at the moment... but it's all about balance.. and your system seems fairly well balanced.... just to give you final confusion.. your 9700 pro more than likely uses DDR, since it's cheaper and faster than RDRAM....

Really confused... you will never know the diffence...have another beer.

I don't know Nose-mine has always worked, just plug and play and I'm on my 4th one. You might try clicking your wheel while in the game and see if that works. You might try going to setup on your mouse and going to the section where you assign tasks to the buttons. Make sure you have the right settings on the wheel. That's all I know to do. If that don't work, I guess you'll be forced to do what you've always done, hold both left and right buttons and move your mouse forwards and backwards to zoom in and out.
