When I play commander, I usually play as Anti-Tank or Engineer (and mine a flag) for defense.

On many occasions now I have seen an enemy vehicle run over an 'older' mine (one I have laid down maybe 5-10 minutes earlier), watch it explode with a puff and the vehicle keep going as if nothing happened.

Any thoughts?

Good question... I have run over mines and had them go "poof" with no damage as well. Maybe they expire, like they did in BF42. Dunno.

I've had that too the Poof and then run over another mine then BOOM! Probably the old mines from your previous spawn life. They only seem to last 45 seconds after your death.

What I would like to know is if you are revived after you are killed (or should I say critically wounded) that your mines stay intact or not.

I was wondering a similar thing about revives. It seems on more than one occasion I got killed and revived and my death count didn't go up. Is this right? A revive cancels the death?

On the mine thing I haven't a clue. I have killed a guy throwing a grenade and it went poof and did no damage.. It may have a time constraint that it's only good for a second or so after the death. They usually take about 2 seconds or more to explode. Except in the case where you drop one at your own feet and it explodes before you can move.

I may be Stiff but that doesn't mean I'm Dead.

In reference to the revive Cathy, I believe when you get revived it cancels the death and does not count against your teams tickets. Can one of you more knowledgable than I confirm this?

The mine "poofing" is your mine expiring. When a mine times out, it goes poof. If someone ran over your mine at its expiration point then no damage will happen. I've had tanks "seemingly" run over my mines and nothing happens. I chalk that up to the inconsistency of BF2.

After hours of tireless research I have concluded that these poofy mines are exclusively used by the notorious "Extra Special Forces psychological warfare division". This FUD (Fearfull Unexploding Device) deception appears to be working.

I'm not more knowledgable, but I too have observed that when I get revived my death count does not increase.

Speaking of which, great job on Great Wall last night! We held that flag the whole game.

I have also been killed by one of my own mines even though the patch did away with that. Has happened only a couple of times, but is quite annoying. Shows up as a suicide.

Maybe the red tag bug had you marked wrong and the mines didn't know what side you were on. You've always been mysterious that way ;)

Revives eliminate a death from showing up on your stats. However, if you TK and revive, you still get the negative points.
