I have a Geforce 6600 video card and I'm wondering if it is good enough to run BF2 on high video settings , or if I'm wasting my time trying to get it to work?

High settings are reserved for the real fast cards. I suggest you start everything on medium except dynamic lighting and dynamic shading which you can set on low and get a nice boost in performance without sacrificing too much in the graphics.. My wife, BagLady is using a Verto Nvidia 5900 with these settings and it runs smoothly. Leave the anti-aliasing off, especially on this card and anything lower.
I run a 6800 GT and I struggle with settings set on high. Runs best in the medium range and high on a couple things you might like such as shadows, or terrain or something like that.
I also run a GeForce 6600 GT (PCIe)1 gig of 512 sticks.Mine runs great on all set to medium. I cam run it on mostly high settings but takes longer to load the maps and once i get in ,it seems to lag (visualy only) untill i walk around a little bit.
I turned most setting to medium and tuerned the anti aliasing down to 2x (i guess when I turned every thing to high it went to 4x) thing are pretty smooth now, still gets a little laggy once in a while think I'll turn anti aliasing off see how that goes . Thakns for the help .
