Ominous looking things are being said. Things like no MW5.

And while I promised I wouldn't say anything most people can figure it out already. A certain deity has said there's no MW5. Whoever made this post initially was bang on. MS canned it.

... MS sucks. Did I ever mention that before?
They do the best they can at giving everybody the most mediocre stuff in an attempt to squeeze out their compettitors who offer the quality stuff...
Oh, btw, I am still XP free too...

lol... I'm using Linux on the same comp that has Win2K on it. Also, my laptop (what I am on now) only likes 98 (Win2K had too many compatability problems). Besides, nothing a semi-annual reformat can't take care of to re-establish stability.
I like the Mech Warrior game, too bad that Microsoft won't do it any longer. Perhaps there will be someone else to work on it? OR, maybe they are going to rework it for their X-Box. IIIISHHH!

My take on what I've read is that Microsoft is not abandoning the Mechwarrior franchise. Instead they will focus their attention on Mechwarrior Assault (the X-box version). My guess is that Mechwarrior for the PC is essentially dead for the next few years unless Microsoft licenses out the names, etc. to another developer.

Actually, We all know that PC games will not die... perhaps lag, but not die. Besides, we all know that MS is like a BLACK HOLE - what goes in will not come out. Thus, the MW franchise will die with MS. Oh, and I could care less about Joystick support since I never use one - not even a gaming pad. I like KB and mouse - especially in Descent 3 (man, could I evade in that game).

I think it would be kinda cool to have a gaming controller like they use on xbox and the other games. I was reading in some comp rag on the plane the other day that there are some pretty cool mouse-type game controllers that are almost there now. It's a big ugly thing, stable mouse type with all kinds of buttons and a big ball on it. Hmm...sit there all night playing with your ball in the palm of your hand. Sounds interesting. heh

I personally prefer the track ball mice that are thumb opperated. Logitech has a new wireless trackball out that is in the MX series, but it is finger operated (really, the thumb is better suited for balls - man, does that sound odd) which is a bummer since I won't buy that kind.
