hey all~
i've looked around the site and played some Battlefeild, and i've appreciated the response from, well, everyone.

My name's Steve Burningham, and i wound up with 'burni $te' on BF2 because "Older-than-your-Dad" was already taken!!

i'm presently near Salt Lake City, just north of ]Buckwheat-OMO Cedar City (UT)[

i'm a PC tech at an egineering outfit, and played bf1942 for a while. i am 42, tho i feel 23 until around noon. then i feel 61 at suppertime, for an average of 42. for all you stats guys, the numbers get skewed when i play bf2 as i feel both 18 and 66 at the same time!

like Dementia says, 'be prepared to change bf2 name and lose stats'. that won't be a problem. the problem is what can i live with for an OMO nick?

thanks guys and Baglady, for bein' helpful to a middle-aged gamer that's lucky enough to have internet access.

Welcome, just get on TS with us now and again so we can get to know you. It's funny, but, we move a little slow around here so don't give up. We're like an old horse, just kick us now and again and we'll move......a little.

Welcome Burnsite , Hang out a while OMO is a great group of folks.

Burniste, you went to the dark side with the [BCR] tags, I guess you couldn't wait for us. Oh well, I will continue to kill you regardless. Now I will get to enjoy it more.

hey Older, and OMO~
i enjoy the website, playing on the sever and getting to know all of you.

i was invited to sport the [BCR] after registering at Bloody's website. i was not "waiting" to join any clan, and happily accepted Bloody Companys invitation. i would have been deelighted to join OMO if asked, and in the meantime i played BF2 on the server, posted where i thot i had something to say, and got on teamspeak. if there was a 'time' requirement for OMO membership i was not aware.

i feel ok with the fact that you enjoy 'killing' me. until (or if) i'm good enough to do anything about it, it is what it is. i was glad to see HairPlug advance thru the ranks, and dont doubt Skidi will soon pass me. in the meantime i will be a part of a community that wants me, which is all i've been looking for.

Sorry we didn't move fast enough. I'm sure we lost a good soldier. We do have a 1-2 month period to get to know any prospects. We'll all enjoy playing with or agains you anytime you play on our server and you, as with all BCO/BCR guys, are welcome and if there isn't room just let us know and we'll make room.

Burn he as well as others were upset to see you in BCR after we felt you were OMO material... part of our recruitment process is we like to know that people will stick around for a while and not just join OMO and leave..

So I guess you could say our process might have worked..??

But thats still up to you to decide.

In either case we only accept members in OMO who aren't members in other gaming clubs or clans.. obvious conflict of interest there.. I guess thats what upset most.

PM me if you are still interested..

Not putting down anyones membership rules or any one's decision to join which ever group they wish to join. But, OMO is a special group of guys. We just don't take anyone. To be a member of OMO is an honor. A new member had to work to be a part of OMO. From being a good guy, participating on TS and the games we play. Building strong relationships, and even having something smart to say. Notice I didn't say anything about ability as you can look around and know we don't make that a requirement or I wouldn't be here.

So, I'm happy you found somewhere to be, when you wanted to be there. OMO will continue to screen it's recruits and sloooowwwllllyy add people who are patient and willing to wait to be a part of a great group. Hopefully, those that do get into OMO will appreciate the membership a little more and participate/stay a little longer than most do in some groups.

i misspoke (see above). i registered at the new BCO site, and then signed up for the BCO/BCR forum. Bloody must have seen something, because i was a lance corporal when i started playing at OMO.
i was waiting to join a clan. what i meant was i didn't want to just join a clan, i wanted to be a part of something bigger than me. my team score per round is almost always bigger than my combat score.
Heart, Older, you guys are right to do what you will, when you will. i must say i'm surprised at the reaction my joining Bloody Company has made, and didn't know how y'all took me.

burni$te, you are a good guy, Yes OMO has a long process of evaluating new members, I registered here as Ishmel on 1-30-06, and just the end of July got in, part of that was my headset/mic problems.
I know you are valued as a player and are considered a friend here. I dont think there is any real "bad connotations" to you being BCR, except as mentioned above, that we lost a good player.

I look forward to playing with you in the future!!

No hard feeling burnsy. I think it's great you found a home. I like most of those BC boys except that damn Bloody and that old fart called 2fat. That 2fat, let me tell you about him. He's a p whipped ol fart. He sits on his butt all day and drinks beer and plays games. Except when his wife has him cleaning the toilets or taking out the trash. Then, and only then can he have his allotted playing time. :) .. .. .. .. and that bloody, when I want to increase my kill/death ratio, I go play on their server and hunt for him.... :0 :))

Burniste, I don't have any problems with you being BCR at all. I was attempting to make light of the surprise of seeing you show up on our server with tags. Repeat no problem. Not upset. Will continue to kill you whether you are burniste, BCR burniste, BCO burniste or even Manzier-OMO (THE NEW NAME I WILL BE PROMOTING FOR THE NEXT OMO VICTIM/RECRUIT). It took awhile for Hairplug to find a home, but there will be a Manzier-OMO. I guarantee it!

Did I mention that I am not upset? Not sure where you got that impression. I was surprised in that you went to the effort of asking to join, got on TS and played pretty often. You did more than just about 90% of the people who ask to join. It took Skidi 6 months to figure out how to get on TS or Vent.

Come to think about it I do have some problems with you. I don't know how I am supposed to pronounce your name and it pisses my off that I am supposed to type a dollar sign which is too far to reach on my keyboard. Other than that, all is cool.
