I think your original post was swallowed up by the server crash. But yeah, the game looks promising from the makers of FarCry.

yeah, i remember the "dogtags" that came with 2142 had posters for it. i called them screenies but some Mod had to correct me and say 'no, those are posters, you noobish-noob'. so i went off to play 2142 with that very nickname...;-)

Here's an update on the CryEngine 2 for Crysis.
Check out the movement when funning, turning corners and walking up hill and down hill.

You'll want Vista for the full experience, however.
But it will run on XP.

I was quite happy until you said that Petri...
I suppose next you're going to say we all need graphics cards supporting DirectX 10 to appreciate the graphics.

Dang Vista?? How do you know this Petri? I just removed Vista from my office pc. I hated it. EVERYthing was slow as a toad!! went back to XP and things speed up. Newer P4 with 2 gigs of ram. If thats not enough to run it, I don't want it.

Vista is the suck. However, Crysis is desinged to get the most out of DX10 last I checked and DX10 is supported by Vista, not XP. How else do you think MS plans on getting you to 'upgrade'? I understand Crysis will be playable on XP with DX9, but it will not play with the full bells and whistles DX10 promises.
Imagine MP for this game...

I give Vista an 8 (out of 10)! So far it has been rock solid as far as the OS goes. Sound issues and video driver issues are to blame. I'm assuming both if these will smooth out this summer, but neither are show stoppers. I have an 8800 and Vista and I'm super pumped for Crysis!

Those are pretty much the main issues with Vista. Which is why I currently am only running XP. But, like you said, those things smooth out.

I got this from ign.com
August 2, 2007 - Ever since Crysis was revealed back in January 2006, PCs have been quaking in fear, wondering when the day would come that they would be expected to run Crytek's monster. That day is now stamped on our calendars. Today Electronic Arts announced Crysis will be released on November 16 in North America and Europe.
"Crytek is constantly striving to push the boundaries of both game design and technology, while maintaining quality at the highest bar," said Cevat Yerli, CEO and President of Crytek. "We're thankful to our fans for their support and patience, and we're excited to bring them Crysis this year. It's going to be worth the wait."

Those screen shots are AWESOME. I'll have to start thinking harder about build time now. This Radeon 9700pro (128) won't handle that kinda graffics I'm sure.
