There's a tweak guide for BF2142.
A couple of the nicer commands in this article are:
1. Setting up higher resolutions than are listed in the game.
2. How certain Video options affect your performance.
3. Setting up auto login from the shortcut. (you still have to go through the ads first though)

I have not been able to go down into the Titan to defend because once I get down there Its pitch black except for soldiers id's. Someone said to go in and delete the files in battlefield/mods/something or another which I did and still having the problem. I know there are several others that are having this problem. I could go down under until about 2 weeks ago. Then all the sudden I can't. Any suggestions?

I'm having the same problem. Where are the video caches?
