Hello everyone!! I would like to join your clan!! I am playing BF 2142 now for about 4 days now on your server, and having a good time too!! Some of you have seen me, I'm BlindBob56. I am an old guy too!! I was born in 1956. I have been in the US Army, and served a tour of duty in South America in the early 1980's.
I am not hung up on rank, or medals, just team play!! You know the old saying tho.....sooner or later every donkey gets a medal!! So far I have my fair share of Purple Hearts!!
I have had plenty of fun shooting at Older than You, Medicated, and Cadaver!! I think Cadaver has had a little too much fun shooting at me tho:)!! I have managed to hit a few of you tho!! I also ran one of you over with my jeep!! It was an accident, I did not mean to do it!! It worked out OK tho, because you are on the other side! LOL! I lost control, and there you were, on my windshield!! Just like a lovebug!! We have those here in Florida!
I would really love to be a full participent in your clan, and the website, I will even donate some cash to the website fund to help keep it up and, keep it current with the state of the are equipment!
Unfortunately people do not think too kindly of my US Army MOS, so don't ask!!! And yes, I have unfortunately had the opportunity to use my speciality to some effect in Panama. I do wish that it had not been necessary. Thank God those days are over!!
I have tried the Teamspeak thing, but everytime it says that there is no one online, even tho I am playing with all of you! Please LMK what You would like me to do, like I said I'm a team player, and I'l play any role the team would like, even if it brings on some old bad memories!! At least this gun is for fun now!!
Thanks everyone!! I look forward to hearing from you!! Until then I shall continue to shoot at you!! Especially Cadaver! The hunt is on:)! Please see the attached pic, and see it you can guess what I have been doing for a living!! Thanks again! Bob Cook

Hi Bob:

Welcome to the forum. It's been fun having you on the server, glad to hear you are interested in joining. In this section of the forum there are some "sticky" topics about joining that I encourage you to read.

Regarding teamspeak, could someone more knowledgable than myself (perhaps Dementia or Petrified) PM Bob with directions?

Hi Bob, I guess you have'nt been told yet. It is a pre-requisite to membership that you must regularly attend and play BF2 Allied Intent for several months before approval. In the AI channels you will find the finest sector of the OMO membership thus making it mandatory for you to win the approval of those members.
The challenge to membership is made somewhat difficult (for good reason) and to that end you will be tempted to divert from the above task by lower status members playing in the 2142 channels. Do not be distracted by these diversionary tactics and you will prove your worth through resolve and determination.
Good luck Bob.

LOL Fuddy, yer KILLIN' me. AI is so not what it's drummed up to be. We gotta get the frenzy built up for DC when it comes. Get ready.

Oh yeah, membership is easy to apply. Just stick around and suck up to any and every OMO or kill us on the battlefield till we decide we need you on our side too bad.

Bob, the above quote is a prime example of a person that failed to adhere to the directive I have already detailed. Follow that directive and you will have an easy path to membership.
Also, beware, Nosehair has developed and excelled in the methodology of deterring new candidates.

Hey guys! Don't worry, nose Hair does not bother me, I just remove it with my usual precision! The "price tag" is a weapon number tag. It is a Stoner SR-25, and my job is to build and shoot them for qualification for the US military. The one in the pic is the model for the Marines, ans Navy. We also make a model for the Army, and one for Israel Def For. The Army rifle is not worth a darn, but is made to their specs, and that is all we can do about it, other than complain, and tell the snipers that visit us that their version does not shoot well. We know why it does not shoot, but the Army Brass will not listen to us. I was a squad sniper in the Army and now I train the new snipers in the use of the SR-25 out to 1000 yards. The St-25 costs $10,000 for the complete military setup, with the can(silencer). The silencer really sucks, it is very quiet, but it sends all the gasses back in your face. It's really hard to breathe when that stuff hits you. Then after about five rounds it gets very hot, and the heat waves distort your view through the scope. Have you ever tried to shoot a ten inch target at 1000 yards with the heat waves moving the target all over? It's very hard to do.
On the days that there are no SR's to shoot, we shoot the M-16. We only shoot full auto. There are three of us qualified to test fire all the weapons, so we shoot from the hip, and challenge each other to hit weeds growing on the berm at 50 yards. We have all gotten pretty at shooting from the hip! I shoot anywhere from 200 to 5000 rounds a day! What a job!!!
None of this seems to make any difference in the quality of my game play tho! I can't seem to hit the broad side of a barn at 10 paces!!
Every SR-25 has a log book that follows it everywhere, and my name is in a lot of them. One of my guns was captured in Iraq, and the log book with it. Now all the bad guys in Iraq now the name Robert Cook! I think that this is just fine!! So long as they don't know my address!! Perhaps I should have put my phone number there as well!! That way I could actually tell them what I think of them!! I beting they already know tho!!
As soon as the war is over the SR-25 will be for sale to the general public again for around 3-5 thousand, for the basic rifle, sans sights, and scope. You gotta buy them separate.
Becauae I have received so much advice from everyone on how to become a member of OMO, and none of it is the same, my plan of attack will be to just press on with the attack!
If anyone has any questions about their rifles let me know, I'll be gald to help out!!

Glad you think well enough of us to want to join Bob, my computer is off limits at the moment or I am certain we would have exchanged shots by now. Hang around and keep trying to get on TS we like to get to know our prospective members before we put out any invites for membership. It kinda cuts down on kicking smacktards out after we let them in. Nosey is one of our "Tokens" but we like him anyway I am one of the "Token Unskilled" myself as you could tell from my score/rank if you looked me up.
I hope to be back in there soon. See you there.

Hey Bob56, let me cut through the FUD for you; keeping playing with us and get on Teamspeak. That way we can see if your game play. actions, language, etc. match ours. After a few weeks/months when everyone has good things to say about you we'll initiate you into OMO.

Now, we at OMO have evoled into mini OMOs; there's the BF2142 bozos, the BF2 Allied Intent Elite Squad (much more fun than all the others), the EVE role playing types and a few stragglers.

So hang around on TS, play, have fun and let the process commence!

BedPan you mean the Allied Intent bot killers.

Hang in there Bob we don't do anything in a hurry. You can sport the OMR tag which means you are a reguler and we usually take a month or 2 to actually get around to making you a full OMO. This is to let us get to know you and make sure there are no personality conflicts. We already have a bunch of them ha ha.

Main thing is hang in there, get on TS and join squads with other OMOs

Now Cath, if we wouldn't let someone in because of a personality conflict, no one would be a member. There will always be conflicts. It's a matter of how everyone accepts/respects each other's differences of opinion, character, viewpoints, etc. Besides, if there wasn't conflicts, the forums would be ever so BORING!
