So with Nothern Strike going on line for play day after tomorrow [03/08/07] how many plan on getting it [$10]. I tried to down load it today but had a snafu- EA down loader said my 2142 copy wasn't registered so I couldn't down load "NS" but it is registered to me and when I tried to re-register it, it said it was already registered to me. Fired off a e-mail to EA Support and will wait for reply.

Yes, they should all be there once NS is released. Already have it pre-downloaded on my comp so just need tomorrow to kick in for it to become effective. I better still have my two unlocks that the give-and-take of what happened with the unlocks appearing breifly and disapearing. Those were earned off my normal ranking process.

In the next week or so I should be able to jump back into the fray on a more regular basis, so I'll get it. I have a lot of catching up to do and I'm sure you guys would like to have another target.

Hey Rigger, with NS some of the badges earn you unlocks as well so you should be able to get unlocks faster that way.

they took my extra grenade. EA, during the 'free' unlock' weekend, "adjusted"t he unlocks. free my @$$, they had a reason for free unlocks. i'm a brigadier who didn't play either beta, at the end of one round they said 'here, have an unlock you already earned before'.
thanks for NUTHIN' ea...

They initially took my extra grenade, but I was able to just go back and unlock it again, and it's been fine since (????). I pre-loaded NS yesterday but don't have any additional unlocks.

BCO already has a NS server up and running. I created a NS profile for our server that rotates the new Assault Lines maps with the new Titan maps (NO Vanilla 2142 maps initially). We will have to see if the 64 player versions will work. The Bridge Map can be an exercise in futility with few people. It's a HUGE maps with lots of ground to cover that's pretty fun with a full server. The Port and the Liberation maps are great Assault maps. FYI, on the Assault Lines, it takes a MASSIVE effort on the part of PAC to win any of the maps. Hopefully they addressed some of the balance issues, but it boils down to ticket drain. EASY as EU (always attackers), almost impossible as PAC (always defenders), especially in a thinly poplulated server. The Port Titan map is ok, the Bridge Titan maps is better due to the varied terrain with the city setting.
Eventually, we will have to see how much traffic we get with the NS maps to see if we will mix them with vanilla or play NS exclusive on some nights, vanilla on the others.
Be aware of which servers you start on, the players that did a lot of the testing know the weapons, vehicles and maps pretty well. There will be a pwnage factor as people play for the first time against pretty experienced NS content players. NS newbies, don't get frustrated, go with the flow and jump on TS. Me, Petri (probably won't speak) and Undertaker spent a lot of time on those maps and can answer questions and provide some advice.
Petri, they were supposed to fix the NS Beta tester unlock issue last week. Are you still short some vanilla unlocks? You were supposed to get all your unlocks reset.
For everyone else, you should be able to get 5-8 unlocks pretty fast (within the first couple of nights). You get 1 unlock for every ribbon and badge you earn. I think one of the bronze badges requires 5 minutes in a Hashimoto or Goliath... These unlock credits can be used for either vanilla or NS unlocks, so you everyone should be happy. No more waiting for a certain weapon or tool.

Game on, rumor was false. Game was released at 12:00AM PST. Petri and I got some action already. I destroyed 2 goliaths, picked up 2 unlocks and 2 wins in about 30-40 minutes. We are really going to have to manage the base raping. Liberation just screams base rape the EU.
Our server is set up, so see you on NS later today...
