... about steering with the throttle.

I've heard you say that before and always kind of felt like it was something waaaay beyond my skills. I did have a Las Vegas setup that I sor tof threw the car into the corners and would "catch" it with the throttle, but I never thought I really got what you mean.

Then, last night I was running an ATKAY race at Bristol. After the tires came in, the car would handle pretty good - not fast but good. But before that, it would push pretty badly. So, I thought why not try to get on the throttle a little earlier (maybe even goose it a little) and see if I can kick the back around a bit and it worked. I ran my fastest laps near the end (of 100 laps) - still not stellar, but I managed a few low 16's.

Ok, so have I got it right? Is that what you mean by steering with the throttle?

That is exactly what he means!

It is also the way you run Texas. There is NO WAY to drive Texas unless you "steer" with the throttle.

yes Aged that is it. aot of tracks like Texas and Atlanta i'll dive into the corners hard and my only option is to catch it with the throttle, at martinsville sometimes exiting the corner im too agressive, so i,ll keep my foot in the gas but then use the brake as the control

I didn't do too bad (7th out of ~13, 2 incidents, neither of which I caused but still got pinned to me and that hurt me on points -9 ).

Bristol is a lot of fun, but it's tough. I got lost on where I was lap wise and got black flagged for passing the pace car. I thought I was on the tail end of the lead lap, but it turned out I had actually inherited the lead (or was about to because the leaders were in the pits). Stupid mistake cost me 4 laps!!!

Later, I got caught in a wreck by 2 other cars but the yellow didn't come out. I was smoking and had to pit. As I was coming out of the pits, the yellow came out. That little mess cost me another 8 laps or so. I got the other 2 or so laps down just trying to stay out of the leaders' way.

It was eventful, but a lot of fun.

Your racin' during the day? Needed a mental health day?

Maybe we can all race this weekend. I'll throw up the server if you all are interested in Admin'ing it.

I've been busy working on the website and learning some more web hacking skills. But I sure would like to get in a couple of races with you guys. I doubt I'll provide much competetion tho.

Oh, and Aged... I know what the solution to the BattleCom on Win2k issue is... go into DirectX diag and set the sound acceleration to basic (1 click from the left). This should allow you to run BC and Nascar at the same time with no more problems.
