ABC is that way. Seems that everywhere you look, people are afraid of offending someone with the flag, mentioning CHRIST, or something. We have taken the back seat and let the minority tell us what to do. They are wanting to change everything and unless we stand together they will just take the country.

For some reason, liberals think it is cool or mainstream to hate, or at the very least, show no respect for, our country and culture.

Someday liberals might learn to embrace freedom, and not be intimidated by it.

LOL I like both libs and neocons in different ways.

W has robbed my freedoms no doubt in ways that I am not at all comfortable with (the patriot act was NOT about protection only).

It's not just liberals. It's everyone. Everyone's afraid of offending anyone. Everyone's careful of what they do or say because somebody may in some weird way be just a tiny bit upset because it affects them.

On the subject of flags. Lets do a quiz.

Who remembers this flag?

The meaning of this flag should be explained to those who dont know. I cant stand the way things slip away and are forgotten. But then how could government get away with repeating its mistakes?

It's: The United States Civil Flag of Peacetime

"As the Federal government acquired more control over the States and their citizens during and after World War II, by 1951 the original Civil Flag had been phased out completely, it's existence left as an artifact of time in a few old photographs and a rare mention in old books."

It's not so much the flag pins , it's a patriot thing . Our news people and government don't seem to have problem one with these third world @#&%!#$s waving their countries flag while burning ours for the world to see on T.V. But they sit back and wonder if us flying our flag with pride , printing in god we trust on our money, or having our kids say the Pledge of Alegence at school is going to offend someone. I feel that as long as ABC is an AMERICAN brodcaster they proudly wave the AMERICAN flag, this also goes for NBC,CBS, and so on.It is also my opinion that anyone who is running to be the leader of this great nation should not only recognize and salute our flag but proudly and with no exception defend our flag.

OldNo7 remember; pictures of flag burnings are NEWS and sells ad time and makes money. We all tune in, yell at the TV, but we all WATCH and ABC/CBS/NBC/CNN/ETC make money! You think CNN went to cover the Gulf war because of a sense of anything honorable, please...it made MONEY and Wolf Blitzer got famous! We (American government) are so hated across the globe (at least this is what my overseas friends say) that wearing a flag pin will get you killed. But I'm sure it's all the liberals fault!

Aged, I care less if you wear the flag pin or salute the flag. You have the right to not do either. You have the right to do what you want as long as it is withing the law. If someone else who is runing for office appreciates the country and What that FLAG stand for, it would and should be that they show it.

I have the right to voice, when I see someone that is runing for office of President, not show the patriotism and love for the country. I think, that anyone that wants to be in the highest office and says they love the country make a effort to show it. That is what is wrong with the country now. I am sure you have seen the picture of the parade where only the Veteran in the wheelchair stands for the passing of the flag. We have left from the old ways and sold out to the new where nothing matters. NOT ON MY WATCH.

I will voice my concerns and hope they do not fall on deaf ears. I will try to teach the young children what that flag stands for. Our national anthem is not a war like song. Good gosh, what has happened to the backbone of the country.

Change, people want change, BRACE it is on its way if obama gets in. A change that will tear the contry apart and who knows. Socialism might be good for you but I won't make it. I won't have it.

Peace, love and prosper. LMAO should be Duty, Honor and courage with a huge helping of partiotism. Peace would be good but never happen.... Love, keep it in the house behind closed doors. Prosper, that we will lose with obama who wants a socialist government All have the same and equal to each other. Do you want to be equal or the right to prosper and gain through your efforts.

I speak to older veterans daily who say that they would just rather die than see the country be given away. They can see it and I can see it but some are blind to what is going on. People listen but do not hear and they look but do not see. They are so scared they will believe anything. Once again, what has happen to the back bone. Men in todays society are not the men of the 40's 50's or even 60's they are so timid and scared that they would give their soul away to believe they are safe.

You have to stand for something or fall for anything. Alot are falling all around us.

OH REALLY?? It was that part about liberals being intimidated by freedom wasn't it? I knew I should have cleaned that up a bit......

edit: Just saw Bifocals post above. I'm with you man, I won't have socialism either. Nothing puts a damper on the human spirit more than socialism.

But that is the truth Havoc. The liberals are frightened by freedom and our rights. They are frightened by everything. The liberals want to take GOD out of everything also. They don't want the truth to come out about them and will fight to keep us quiet.

You will love this one, Rush Limbaugh has called you guys out and exposed the liberals for what they are. Anti Americans, that hate the country so much they will give it away. If that shoe fits anyone then you can put it on. I myself will stand against them and fight with all I have for my freedom and my rights. I have grandchildren that I want to live free and their children when they come in to this world.

Hey BiF are you going to be on Bloody's server and Vent channel this Wed. ?
I'm a lib and I still like you cause your OMO AND an American. It's challenging to read your true goodness through all the fear you stir up. I've met you though and if I hadn't I may be a bit put off by the rants. It's all good, keep talking. I haven't heard Rush today, but I know he is doing all he can to get his ideas of "right" through to the most people he can. It's an entertaining message, but filled with a good dose of hate and fear no doubt.

If I ever get the assault rifle that I'll need if you are indeed right and the country falls apart WHEN Obama wins, will you take me out to the woods and we can practice a bit of target shooting and general boot camp combat training on how to handle the weapon? I am not looking to use each other as target practice, OK ?!?!?

Ok, I was just going to let this fester and move on since these threads just upset me, but I can't let this one slide.

Liberals are afraid?!?!?

The current adminstration have been masters of fearmongering and paranoia. It has also been one of the most secretive administrations ever. Who's worried about the truth coming out? It's the ultra rightwing conservatives afraid somebody will notice their hypocracy. Freedom??? Bah, they just want the right to invade people's lives whenever they don't conform to some norm that they have set. Patriot Act? What a joke. Oh yeah, we're all free ... as long as we don't step outside the boundary. Afraid??? Which side keeps accusing the other of taking away our precious guns? Which side keeps accusing the other of turning our country over to Muslim extremists? Which side keeps accusing the other of stifling religious expression?

Liberals want to take God out of everything?!?!? This is the most offensive of all. I am a liberal and, guess what, I'm a Christian too. Surprise!!! Ann Coulter got it wrong. You want to pray in school, do it. If someone tries to stop you, fight back. But, there is a difference between expressing your religion and the government sanctioning it.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Right there it is. If you want to express your faith, you are free to do so - but the government cannot sanction it.

The sweeping generalities of the far right media (e.g., Rush Limbaugh, etc.) are so freaking wrong ... and people still buy this nonsense.

Ok, my rant is over. I swear to never again read one of these posts again. I give up. I do ask one thing, though, please stop painting all liberals with the same brush. It's offensive. It's wrong. And, it implies that there is some sort of agenda at work, which simply is not the case.

I believe in the principles that this country was founded upon, but I'm afraid this country is losing its way. And, I see the strong right wing agenda of the past generation to be a major player in that demise.

As an aside, it concerns me that OMO seems to have become a haven for liberal bashing. I was a founding member. It used to be about games and having fun.

And with that (and in that spirit), I bid farewell to political discussion here.

Nosey consider yourself thoroughly insulted.(as usual)
