Ask yourself this:
Why would George Bush say this, if man was not part of the Climate Change equation?

I'm just asking that's all. As I've said in the other post, there is plenty of science to back up the simple claim of man's contribution to Climate Change.

The better question is how people can predict the climate 10 years from now, when they can't even predict the weather 10 days from now.

I was an Anthropology major at The U (The University of Utah), but minored in geology/climatology. There are lots of theories and lots of empirical evidence as well, that explain climate cycles, but the easy answer is the earth just tries to find a neutral thermal state.

This is a pretty good, one picture view of the last 750,000 years of climate change.

Here is my advise to people. If you live on the coast (any coast) sell and find a place at 1000 feet or higher in the next 10 years. If you somehow live to be 2000 - 5000 years old, buy a coat and find a place South of the 40th parallel. The earth has gotten very warm and then very cold countless times, so don't be shocked when it happens again. ;)

Consensus is not fact, there needs to be a debate at the highest levels and for some reason or another one side dosn't want that debate to be had.

Wasn't it global cooling 35 yrs ago that was going to kill us all...

Do you want to know the true cause of G.W.? Look outside at the big glowing orange ball in the sky. Prominet scientists found that temps change with a the activity of sun-spots.

Please dont be fooled, the earth may be warming by .001 degree but I dont belive that we (carbon) are 100% of the problem.

One last thing we've had 6 total ice ages in earths history, how did the thaw out?

Don't let Al gore scare you with ManBearPig.

One large volcano or a big nuke and we will be back in an ice age. lol

Yeah, pretty sure the sky is not falling, but I do think we (all earth bound humans) need to try to help with pollution, etc. Limited resouces plus 6 - 8 billion people = trouble if everyone isn't a bit careful.

It's cows and all their methane release... hmmm actually 6 - 8 billion people releasing methane probably doesn't help...

Eat chickens! They came first anyway! (Well, they came before the egg as proven by me a few years ago on these very forums. I'm sure they came before cows, too.)

we should get everyone in the world to face east and fart, all at once. It'll make the world spin faster. World spinning faster, means less sunlight per day. Less sunlight per day, means that we're not exposed to as much sun. Less sun = less heat produced.

Therefore, if we all fart, Al Gore will think that the world is aa better place.

I'm going to have to think about this one for a bit before buying in, if you don't mind....

I heard the international conference on global warming was cancelled for the third time due to bad weather.....

Is not the primary greenhouse gas Carbon Dioxide(heavier than air gas)?, and isn't the hole in the Ozone layer way up in the stratosphere? and isn't 90% of the industry that creates Carbon Dioxide in the northern hemisphere? and isn't the hole in the southern hemisphere over the south pole? and the trade winds are both north of the equator and south of the equator, but never cross the equator?
So tell me this; how does the heavier than air gas, get from the northern hemisphere, to the southern hemisphere and up into the stratosphere?
Now they say the primary pollutant gas is Ozone!!!!!!
Am I dumb and not seeing things right?

Anyone watch Palins speech? WOW I believe we are looking at the President of the United States in 2012.
No doubt in my mind! I'm sorry Nosey. Love ya man. But Obama is full of hot air is is going to get crucified when the debates start. He cant even speak in front of a crowd without forgetting what he is suppose to say. (not what is on his mind and what he truly thinks) What they tell him to say. He friggen babbles change but doesn't say how in detail how thats going to happen.
If he gets elected it will bring in more government which means more $$$ where do you think thats going to come from? I really think ya might as well vote in a terrorist as to vote for Nobama.

I thought there was there a petition signed by top scientists of the world filed in protest to this bullcrap? I have heard it more than once so I think its compelling evidence the governments of the world are going to blame the people they represent and fine us for life. And every government is going to approve the plan because of the billions it will bring in.

Its part of the end game plain and simple. If we let them blame us for this we are truly sheep in their eyes. There are people in this world dreaming of the cash cow comming into existance and smiling as they go to sleep at night. Ill bet Al Gore's new enviromental companies stocks will be a great investments guys. I may have to buy in myself just to offset the dramatic price increase EVERY SINGLE PRODUCT PRODUCED ON EARTH IS GOING TO GET!!

I am watching the decline of the human race and can do nothing but watch. CO2 levels were 300% higher thousands of years ago and we are here now. The planet changes over time and we are only able to effect a .001 % change against the changes already occuring at this time. And that would involve much lower production of goods and services for the planet. Ill bet the UN will police it too.

I saw a "science" program the other day where the scientists involved found that diatoms eat CO2, and there are a lot less than there used to be. Their plan is to build thousands/millions of simple wave-activated pumps that bring up nutrient rich water, from 1000 feet deep, up to the surface to promote diatom blooms.

OK, so that would eat almost all the man-made CO2. But, it seems that these folks have never heard of the law of unintended consequences. Super-sized algae blooms... oh goodie. No way for THAT to possibly get out of hand.

My opinion ... global warming, yep it's happening. Man helping it along... yep. Man is killing the climate... give me a break. We may hurt ourselves, but the world and its biosphere will keep spinning merrily along.

My feeling is that its self repairing. Volcanic ages with plant life and poisionous atmosphere turning into what we call normal is only a stage in the planets cycle. And we are the fleas on the dogs back. Can fleas make a difference? The answer is yes. They can leave and infest another dog. Lucky fleas. They like us have in their nature to use up the body they inhabit. They find other options, we havent yet. But we are looking hard. Right Bluehair, its called a red tide I think. Not good.

Indeed, Winter is when I really appreciate the climate change. I've said for years, Global Warming is not ALL bad.

Hey BiF isn't there something in the Bible about man being the stewards of the earth? I'm just asking that's all. If you "freaks" can't see what science is telling you (head in the sand types) at least get a grip on our need to not depend on the "towel head" for our economic growth and prosperity. We all know that we do NOT have enough oil, off shore, in Alaska or anywhere in the U. S of A. that can sustain our energy needs. Get green for that reason alone. "F" the planet facts if you want.

I'm going to throw an LOL in here so that nobody gets too worked up...K?
