I use to be able to click on a link within my email account.

Now when I try to click on it it tells me..."The security something or another has changed...please contact your administrator."

It's Microsoft Outlook. I've looked through all the options, etc. and don't have a clue. I also went into my internet security options and don't know what I'm looking at..

Any thoughts?

So, what has recently changed between the last time you were able to click the link without that warning?

"THis operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact the system administrator."

Well, this administrator ain't good at administrating!

And Petri, my cousin was here and tried to download the latest 34 bit Ipod whatever on my 64 machine and it didn't take. So I had to go back to the day before they came for my last backup...but at that time it worked fine..

System restore might be in order.
I have never seen the issue you describe.
The only thing I can suggest would be to make sure you are set as the primary email address and the email program you use is set as the default account. try that and let me know.

I dunno but it sounds like a security patch has changed something on Windows Firewall or within the machine group policy. I have no idea what that would be as I don't have any issues on either my XP or Vista machine.

Vista is actually ok, as an OS. If performance is your main concern, then you want to revert to classic windows UI and kill the side bar. I mainly stick with Windows XP due to my music production software not being compatible. However, the main two applications I use, Finale and Acid Pro, were just updated to be fully compatible with Vista.

So... that said... My newer machines are going Vista, my 2003 laptop and my kids machines are remaining XP.

Anyways... Heart: you mentioned you have a restore point prior to your cousin's arrival, did you use it? Maybe you need to go back one further point? Otherwise, what Arcane says... but I don't see why a restore point would not effect those settings (then again, I don't use them).

I like Vista with the exception that some of my programs are real quirky with it so I decided to stay with my XP drive.
Sorry heart didn't mean to steal your thread.

I use Vista Enterprise on a daily basis as my work machine and I have very few problems if any. Most of the problems I do encounter are driver related. Once the driver is updated no more issues. I'll also say that every single game I've played on it run great! I haven't tried running any of those that are known to have issues but WoW, Gears of War, Halo2, Nexus, Homeworld 2, MechWarrior 4, Sins of a Solar Empire all run fantastic.

Drivers... the bane of all OSs...

Say, Arcane, ever try Sword of the Stars? If you havn't you might want to pick up the Collectors edition. Quite a decent TBS game with RTT combat.

I have SotS but I could never get into it. I picked it up to maybe do some games with Blue... I only have the original so I might want to upgrade to the expansions if they change it like you indicate.
