Once I settle in on a decent imaging program (Chosing between Norton 14 and Acronis Home), I'll be redoing my main gaming comp in preperation for the full Windows 7 release (I know, it is later than sooner). With finances being tighter this year I decided to forgo purchasing VMWare Workstation since I would end up having to chose between it and Win7.

In my current line of work, I need to be on top of the current OSes.

Anyways... If I am offline from CoD5/BF2/CoH/DoW2 for a couple of days, you know why.

Got my i7 running in no time at all. Sweet! Love this new case NZXT Tempest; quiet, unbelievably cold. EVGA mobo is awesome! Good luck Petri!

OMG, I just deleted all the BF series last night on my old computer including both Desert Combat games. It just made me sick because I knew how long it took to download all the games and all the updates!!! I left BF2 for backup.

Yo YO, it only took 2 DLs like I said. 10 minutes and I was good to go. Still pissed that my joystick isn't setting up right for the planes. I used to love to fly back then. The Link is right on the BCO boards. I found it after I muddled through the web and found out the long way how to get it done.

Ok. So after becoming thoroughly miffed over the creation of a consistent USB boot device I gave up on my old copy of Norton 2003 and decided to opt for a more recent, professional, imaging program. I have not had a copy of Windows 98 for, oh, 7 years and just about all the “Create a Bootable USB stick” guides wanted you to use Win98 DOS. I presume because it is far more reliable in the creation of a USB boot stick than XP’s version of DOS which would work only on the machine it was created on and not on others. The other problem, is that the USB recovery stick I created with Norton 2003 would fail for any machine it was not created on and often fail on that machine as well. Norton 14 either has it’s recovery disc option hidden in the trial or lacks it completely.

The trial copy of Acronis Home, however, allows you to make a USB recovery stick and it worked for every machine I had. So, I think I’ll be giving Acronis my business for backups.

Bedpan, Heart, you two are making me feel bad over my machines lack of speed.
