It's got a steep one all right, LOL. Just think: it is better now than when first released - I should know, I was there.

Big learning curve for sure, but I found Eve to be boring. It reminded me of the first games for Apple and Atari computers way back in the day. Just never could get into the game.

Bloody, that would make you one of those little stick figures impaled on the pike at the bottom. EVE has so much going on it is more ocmplictad and give you more to do than any 2-3 other MMOs you ever heard of combined.

I saw that same tactic in "The 300". Leonitis would be proud.

lol @ Bypass. Yeah, I know. I gave up permanently on EVE because I could not play it to my full satisfaction. Call it the: "I could be there by now had I not stopped playing syndrome".

Still playing City of Heroes, Aion, and Champions Online. Though I must admit I rarely play Champions.

Then I play Sword of the Stars quite a lot. There are a couple interesting mods for it and the other RTS (as opposed to RTT) I play is Sins of a Solar Empire. Then there are the RTTs: Company of Heroes, Dawn of War II, and Earth 2150 Trilogy. Then there are the FPS: BF2, World at War, and Fort Zombie (new, by the same people that did Sword of the Stars) which will get replaced by Shattered Horizons.

Hey, that's only 11! Take that Bypass!

Currently playing Navy Field www.navyfield.com

Fantastic mmo WW2 naval warfare game that you can hop in and play for 30 minutes or 3 hours with full satisfaction. Currently driving a level 3 jap sub, a level 3 jap CV, a level 2 BB, and a german light cruiser for kicks when I want to go sub hunting.

Did I mention that is is free with no limitations except some premium ships that are no better than the other ships (except you can get them a few levels early). The pay part only give you a boost to xp (but they have boosted the xp on the free accounts so it is not a big deal) and you can nickel and dime purchase a bunch of items that, once again, are not a big deal to the overall game.

yeah petri I think I'm done with champs as well, it was fun but I find in my old age I don't like the grinding of NPC's, was worth the money for the amount of time I put into it but it's lost it's luster.

btw what is "POTBS" Mentioned in the diagram?

Yes ... Gink and I are on EVE all the time.

I waited from Beta until now to play EVE because I knew what it would do to my free time.

I was right.

With someone to guide you... this universe becomes irresistable very quickly.

Trying it on your own .... well ... see the picture at the top of the thread.

I have been playing since May.. and with a little help ... I now have 2 'toons on 2 accounts.. and I make enough in-game money to buy 30 day time cards in the in-game market.

This means I have 2 accounts for free.

EDTeach or Psyatt ... those are my two main characters, and are on every day in the evenings, and during the day on and off on weekends.

Download it and play 2 weeks for free.. I can show you around in that timeframe.

How's Psyatt working out, Bluehair?

http://eve-sheet.com/skills/Psyatt

She has been upgraded to an Orca-driving mining queen, as well as having her gunnery and ship skills brought up closer to her armor and drone skills.

Psyatt has made enough iskies to keep both her and Ed in milk and cookies for some time to come.

I have an EVEMON plan that has her engineering and building Tengu(Tech 3 Strategic Cruisers) in 140 days from plan start.

---------------------

To all new people ...

Dominion is coming. It is the newest major content addition and should be in place by end of November. Dominion will make it easier for newbs to catch up in key areas quickly by lowering skill level requirements for certain things. More ships are being added. existing ships are getting tweaked. Most importantly ...

New Sov rules. The intention being to encourage smaller groups to literally plant their Flag out in nulsec.

It's worth playing just to watch how it all settles out.

Living in Wormhole space can be very profitable for anyone who wants to run 2 accounts. The "main" PvP/PvE 'toon kills Sleepers for loot and salvage, while the second account mining 'toon mines Arkonor and Mercoxit in truly epic amounts.

One Billion(with a B) ISK in a very good WEEK. Thirty Day Pilot Extensions cost about 280 mil and dropping at the moment. One week of so-so playing time pays for both for a month.

Three months of paid play(maybe four) to train up the in-game skillsets... and you need never pay again.

There are many other paths that can make you self-sufficient.

Come to the Dark side ... we have cookies
