This is a pretty cool game. I liken it to groundpounding, flying, and a little HOMEWORLD. Beta just finished. You fly around blowing up people. Kind of like COD but you fly around while doing it. Here's a video of the game although it doesn't really do any justice. But you can get the gist of what's going down...

Oh, and when you first start playing the game you might get a little motion sickness. As you fly around you lose your orientation frequently and up is not up, down is not really down. Kinda freaky..but, after a short while you are able to adjust..

Oh heavens! THIS IS DESCENT 4! Only, without the Pyro.

Thanks HB! Unless they get dumb with the DRM, I think I'll be getting this one.

Needs Vista or better due to DX10. Given the visuals, I can understand why they don't step it back to DX9. Still... sucks for XP users (or Win2k hold-outs )

I liked the maps, the visuals and 360 degree aspect but I had a hard time navigating and finding who was shooting at me! The one observation that really makes me think about getting this one is the sniping threat. Because it's hard to shoot while zooming around I think too many people will be sitting in one place sniping.

Yep, the beta was pretty cool and like I said, once you learn to maneuver around (i.e. camera movement in Homeworld) Then it's a pretty cool game. This would be fun with fellow OMO and BCO guys flying around. There's even some sniping/ambush places both Nosey and our Kentucky boy would love..
I have pre-ordered so we'll see how it goes..

Yes, the beta was nice...and believe it or not you get better shooting while moving. My guess is you will get better shooting while moving and it will help you in, say, BF2 or COD more accurate shooter while moving around. At least I have noticed a little better sure-shot accuracy while moving sideways...just an observation. I'm getting it today..

I would play this for only $18.00. Euro gamer finds some good points to it. I like the 3D aspect.

They claim that the system requirements aren't that high. You need vista or 7 to play it however. XP is not supported.

I used to be strong hold out for Win2k until SP2 for XP came out and some of the games I was interested in would not play with Win2K well. Vista is a Red Headed Step-child (I should know, I was a red-headed step child myself) and Win7, from the experience I have had with it, is better.

17.99 on steam wow I might even get this one just for a change of pace. I ran the can my machine handle it on their website and I meet the minumum requirements due to my processor being a duo core not a quad wow. Is there a trial version to dl yet?
