looks like it's already released, does it have multiplayer or just a CO-OP?

Few of us in BCO bought the game. Single Player (SP)is fun, tough at times. Perhaps the most realistic FPS SP game I've played to date. Very tactical, run and gun will get you mowed down in a heart beat. SP also has some minor issues/bugs, but it doesn't impact game play.

Multi Player (MP)is badly broke. No dedicated servers, it's all peer to peer which means your at the mercy of the person hosting the game. Also no anti cheat like punk buster. Vehicles don't work correctly in MP and often their is lag issues.

Just read the forums and all the hate threads, you'll quickly get a picture of what's going on.

Coop seems okay.

Game is $40 on Steam, worth it for the single player experience in my opinion. They also promise regular download content to keep the game fresh.

Very unlikely they will fix MP to the standard we expect in PC games though.

Yeah, what Sting said.

SP is awesome, and Co op is pretty cool (even with random players), but MP is FUBAR. It uses the same system as Far Cry 2 used for online peer to peer and it just plain sucks. Once in a blue moon I get a good server (usually in the title of the server it will say US server and a state), but even then you get disconnects, lag, etc.

It's really too bad they F'ed up MP and have no dedicated servers (and looks like they never will either), as the game rocks. I have played a few MP rounds that were great and made BF and even COD look like kids games. But after trying for a couple weeks now to get a good server and more than 1 in 10 good connections, I have given up on MP. Co op is fun and less laggy, as it's only up to 4 players. I usually host a co op if I want to play one, as it's really not laggy for the host.

SP is great, as we both said. Another cool thing is the mission editor they send with the game. It allows you to really make some fun SP stuff (even co op and mp) that you can go and try out after you make. The issue there is, the editor is a pain to get running in the first place if you run anything 64bit. Also, there are a number of scripting errors, etc that make it all too complex to make a good mission to share with others.

All in all the game is very good in some aspects and horrible in others. If you want a great SP FPS that is ultra realistic and tactical then yes it's a buy, but if you are interested in online play, and don't care to play SP, then skip it for sure. All the talk about patches and fixing MP, etc is all BS to me. They will not be giving dedicated servers (doesn't work with the code and engine) and the "fixes" in the patch will maybe make things a little better, but not enough to save it. Real shame cause it would have been the BF killer for sure if it had good MP.
