...I have a backup computer that runs XP. I had some issues with it a few weeks back in that I had to reload XP.
I have it running and it does fine. The only thing is I think my sound card has crapped out as I can't get any sound from it...
So, all I want to do is to turn on the onboard sound in the bios....
The problem is I can't get to the bios. I restart, hit "tab", also tried f4, esc, ctrl/alt/delete, f10, all of them. I also have been able to get to the bios by ctrl/alt/delete while windows is open...but it won't do it.
I am able to get to the navidia strip something or another which is run behind windows..just can't get to the bios setup.
Any suggestions from all you IT wizards??

Have you been able to get into the BIOS before?
BIOS (on start up) will tell you what key/s you need to press to get into the BIOS setup screen.
Usually the same screen that shows what CPU/Memory/Hard drives you have. Only flashes for a second so you really have to pay attention.
Key/s are different for each mobo manufacture, which one do you have?

Can you open the case and jumper the reset? That'll usually enable the onboard sounda as default.

Have you tried resetting the BIOS? Usually have a jumper that resets it, or you might have to unplug your system and take out the BIOS battery for a few seconds.

ROFL....this will be over some of you younger peeps but back in the 60's a speed equipment company by the name of Eelco made shifters for manual transmisions. They came with a little red sticker that read:

Well, I actually tried hitting DELETE and it booted...go figure..the only problem is it is recognizing the A97 audio and I have set all the settings for that program, pulled up the audio settings and made sure they were maxed and not muted...still no sound. And this is a new board (8Month) My audio card I took out just stopped working. So, now I'm wondering that it might not be the sound card....
