Hi all,

My son wants to make his own website and we think it would be a great thing for him to do.

We want to setup his own URL with a web hosting service and are wondering what would be the best service to use. I have checked godaddy and Intuit and only know that I do not know what the hell I am looking at.

I'd like to be able to buy a URL, have a hosting site, and have access to a decent variety of pre-made site stuff and tools for him to be able to easily put something together and maintain CHEAPLY, but with good value.

His goal is to make a website that shows his favorite games and with links to the games. He is 11 years old and does not know any programming code.

Anyone have a good recommendation?

Thanks,

We use 1and1.com.

The second option is 6.99/month and has more features than you could ever use as a novice, but it's good for someone starting out cause of the web site building features included. It also includes 2 domain names so you could do a family one and one for your son.

One of the first things to learn would be FTP (file transfer protocal) and it includes FTP accounts and then get Filezilla for free as your FTP program (just google filezilla).
