Posted this in the BCO forums, thought I'd invite any OMO that have the game as well.

One of the best features I've seen in BO is the private match feature. You can host a match with just about any configuration you want. We all need to give this a try....soon.
We can have limited weapons, kill streaks, perks, you name it, it can probably be done.
For kill streaks, I'm thinking spy plane and counter spy plane for now.
For perks either none or last stand pro since you can revive with the pro perk.
How about we give it a go this Sunday? I'll setup a simple TDM with few basic kits, HC of course.

We darn near had our own private server last night. Fury, Slam, Petri, few other OMO (can't remember), and myself were on a server killing each other.

At this point Fossil the game is pretty laggy. I own it but I would wait if I were you. If they don't sort the lag out in a week or so I would say don't ever get the game. However, if you just want it for the single player then go for it. Getting a kill has a lot to do with who is lagging the least at the moment of engagement. This is the worst lag I have ever seen in a COD game. I love the COD franchise so it pains me to say bad things about it. My hope is that it is just an early launch issue that will be fixed but at this point I can't recommend it.

For me the lag has all but gone away. I get spotty lag here and there on certain servers (joining on friends that may be on a distant server), but I can honestly say the lag is almost non existent now. MW2 had/has much worse lag for me. Rarely am I able to play more than one good lag free round of MW2.
Some of the lag still present could be client side stuff (i.e. settings too high, etc), as the game taxes even the best systems out. It's also very CPU centered, so you have to have a fast dual or quad core.

Hardly had any lag last nite. I know they did some more server tweaks on the 15th (rebooted all game servers).
They game tends to grow on you, I would recommend it. It is a fast pace shooter though. But the amount of customizing make it fun for me.
Also, private matches have the potential to be very fun if we can get a bunch of us on one night.
Has a decent psychedelic single player campaign as well.
Recommended buy from me. Knowing Treyarch, there should be a health dose of map packs as well.
