I was talking to a friend earlier today. It was an interesting conversation. Of course it started out about COVID-19, since its on everyone's mind and the top new story. It went on to how in a handful of years there has been a profound change in our perception of normalcy. With both 9/11 and COVID-19 we've seen the erosion of expected freedoms. In the case of 911, almost 20 years later we are still feeling the effects of freedoms given to keep us safe from terrorism. Now with COVID-19 we are 'sheltering in place' and practicing 'social distancing'. The effect on everything we do, how we behave, what we expect as basic freedoms has changed. In some cases they may never go back to what they were before. I bought a tractor the other day and the normal handshake was discarded... which I thought was funny because we were all touching the same surfaces.
Its a strange new world. One that I'm not sure will turn out the way I envisioned before COVID-19. I have a feeling this is a pivotal time and one we won't look back on fondly.
I hope that my OMO brethren are staying healthy, financially solvent, and safe.

Knowledge is power... has been since time eternal. Arcane knowledge is thereby ultimate power and can therefore lead to ultimate corruption. Wisdom (and the experience that comes with age) is a serum for corruption. Perhaps that is why there are so many Old Men with Arcane knowledge and so few young ones... Arcane OMO - Circa 2001

I said "Hi" back to Nosey. Also, I'm an official 'Old Man Online' now since I retired last December. Baglady will be following next year and we still play BF2. We miss shooting at Nosey, but doesn't everyone? Greetings to everyone, stay well.

My wife and I consider ourselves very blessed. We both have jobs that we can do from home, myself more so. We also haven’t had any interruption of our incomes. Our children on the other hand ... not so much.
We’re all healthy and doing the things the experts have been telling us we should do.
I hope this doesn’t result in some big change going forward. Humans are meant to be social (and I’m a died-in-wool introvert). So, I expect this to pass and things go back to mostly like it was before. I don’t think we can live in fear of infecting each other as a way of life but, maybe we’ll renew some healthy practices again.
Having said that, this is a novel virus. Another one will come again. Hopefully not again in our lifetimes.
Stay healthy, old friends.

All's well here, have 1472 rolls of toilet paper at this time , i think my buddy is ahead of me i have been banned from wally world and dollar general
im having these dreams of standing on a corner naked prophesying doom gloom, foretelling of increasing natural disasters,
but other than that, i did find out i did not have to change anything to be in self quar... isolation lol they put new locks , havent been able to pick them yet
found an old package that looks like it contains tabs of lsd, now im wondering do they become more potent
alrdeady finished my stock of shine ive had hid in the barn
realized there is no way to deny that our climate has changed, dont believe in the flat earth either, im thinking the lsd tabs helped with that ( ya know taking a trip n not leaving the farn deal...puple monkeys flying, fish driving cars etc..... i mean this is march we,ve had 2 weeks of uncommon hot weather, been 90 degrees a few times now, the tan lines on my feet from my flip flops are certaintly more pronounced
so it seems evrything is normal here, be safe guys, wishing the best for evryone
p.s. can u drink rubbing alcohol safely if u strain it thru a loaf of bread? ^_- lol
my satelite connection keeps me safe with .697 latency so i have protection
