Hailz all,
I recently regestered here on the website and wanted to introduce myself. I started playing mercs fairly recently and have found that your server offers consistantly good competition and camraderie. I have had the honor of playing with and against several of your members(Aged, Pacemaker, Eccentric to name a few). Aged can even testify that I have mastered the fine art of DFAing ones own teammate.(Honestly, I didn't know that he was there..he must have respawned beneath me while I was airborne...yeah,sure, thats the ticket.)
About myself, I am 43, married and the father of 5, yes 5, beautiful daughters. I am a native of Minneapolis, MN. When not chasing my girls or getting blown up in Mercs or Veng, I drive airplanes for a living. My real world mech is a 75 ton Maddog (MD-80 or DC-9). Its almost as fun as driving a mech but I still can't figure out where to mount a couple of gauss rifles.
Thanks for the great site and server. If I can ever get Bcom working right it should be even more enjoyable.
Hope to see you in my crosshairs real soon.

Hey Capn80,
Thanks for stopping by. Great to hear your a pilot. Always wanted to be one myself (got to the point that I was ready for my first cross country... then work started to get in the way).
I still plan on getting back to it, would eventually like to get an IFR & multi rating. Someday, someday soon I hope

Poor, poor guy :)
It's been fun playing with ya online, Capn - and nice to see ya in here and get to talk to ya.
And yes, your DFA will never be forgotten - in fact, I think it even got immortalized in our Geriatrica story... :)

A word of advice.
If you hang around here long enough, you WILL be assimilated.
And if you are, don't let those OMOs with the "classy" names give you your new name. We need some character (Skidmarks anyone?) around here!

So far, us OMOs with a more refined sense of style in their names seem to be content to stay over here in IC and mate lobsters. However, you never know - I like the BattleTech universe a lot, and some of us may well soon get the game, come on over and teach you guys to fear sissified OMO names.

Is "Eccentric" considered one of the "sissified" names?
Hmmm...

Yes that was me in that molten mass of a cauldron-born. Learned real quick to stay way back when you guys are playing with your Zippo lighters.
And in a lame attempt at defending my DFA abilities, I was able to kill an enemy Fafnir a couple of days later by doing a Thanatos twostep on his head

Hey Capn80, I was the other masochist the other night. I was pretty out of it that night, bad interaction of stress, worry, lack of sleep & beer. My apologies to all for whatever transgressions. I do remember having a good time though, at least when the flamers weren't toasting my tush.
Anyways, I'm pretty new around here too & so far I've found this to be a pretty damn good bunch. It's about the fun, not the ego.
See ya around Titus

Actually, Titus - Pace and i were commenting on TS about what a great sport you were being about the whole thing.
no worries about any trangressions (except for shooting back at us when you weren't shut down :) )

Daggnabbit...we have just about enough "good sports" in OMO. What we need, is someone who whines, irritates, and annoys people. I can't shoulder the load all myself you know. Its a terrible responsibility. And do I get any appreciation for it? Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo.......

No problem... I have become quite proficient at dieing, although it seems that many of the players that I come up against seem to be very good at it too.
Good Luck

IF you will recollect, I was trying different manuevers. How else would I learn to play this frellin game?
Did I make my Saving Throw? Or is that a different game?
It was good therapy that night considering my personal concerns. So by toasting my butt that night you did a good thing.
So you see, there is sometimes good in toasting relentlessly somebody's tail.
Now, live this one down.
