So does any know of a good guide for Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games?

I played last night and felt somewhat overwhemled (besides killing the squigs part) and I was wondering if there was a basic tutorial out there that someone knows about.

Ie: Accronymns and such.

Banshee is a uber WoW player now. He is a Guild officer and pretty well knows every kind of race, class, profession, etc. In fact, he is so over the top that Tread, TG, etc say he is uber. lol

I have for sure been bitten by the WoW bug again with this expansion (WoTLK). They did a great job with the new Death Knight class and the addition of some very cool stuff (vehicles, better quests, professions, etc).

I agree with what Fossil is saying BTW. So many $40 - $60 games that I play for a short time and then they are just boring. And the $15/month sub fee is really not an issue if your playing one game and you are enjoying it so much. Plus, you can put accounts on "hold" in between expansions, etc. I let my WoW account sit for about 7 months without playing. No fees cause it was on hold and then when I wanted to try WoTLK, I just DL'ed the free trial. I suspect that in a few days when my 10 day trial is up I will be subscribing again. ;)

I think the big turn off for most people when it comes to MMO's is the monthly fee for them.
I like free updates to the game and the auto patching as well as the customer support is most the time pretty good.

When I play MMO's I don't buy other games but I sometimes get them as gifts as was the case with CoD5.
I figure a new game is around 60 bucks, well that's 4 months of an average MMO sub fee. I can't tell you the number of non Sub fee games that I've bought on a whim and played them for about a week and go bored with them. Too me THAT is a waste of money.

btw speci sorry I haven't been on Still cleaning up storm damage and when I get home I'm too pooped to pwn. Next week I should be on more hopfully.

Na, it's just that MMORPGs get bashed all the time by people who don't even take the time to kearn what MMORPG stands for. It's like saying that video games should be banned because it keeps people from talking to other people, when in all actuallity, they're getting lots of social interaction.

Of course, you're welcome to try it, as my offer is still open. If you try it out, then think that they suck, I don't mind cause you've experienced it and I have no problem with that. But, when I ask "Why does it suck," and someone says, "cause it does," I have a problem with that.

Yeah MMO's are more than just "oh look a bad guy pew pew" it's actually pretty deep and you've just gotten just a little taste of what yet to come.

Each of the 3 order races has their own zones.
In each of the zones there are 4 Tiers.
Level 1-10 Characters = Tier 1 aka T1
Level 11-20 Characters = Tier 2
Level 21-30 Characters = Tier 3
Level 31-40 Characters = Tier 4

Every race can travel and do quest in the different zones depending on their level.

Every Tier has 3 to 4 Chapters in which you can participate in PQ (public quest) so you gain influence to get weapon and armour upgrades.


There are 22 chapter for each race so that's 66.
There are 3 PQ's per chapter so thats 198 total PQ's you can do. And that's just Order the same applies to destruction side as well.

There are 3 to 4 Scenerio's (pvp mini games) you can participate in per Tier to gain renown which allows you get get better gear and XP for leveling.

Then there are keep, castle fortress and city takes that work like the PQs that allow you roll on loot depending on your contributions.

Thats just the tip of the ice berg, trust me there is a lot do in the game to keep you busy so it's real hard to get bored!

My wife plays WoW still and her favorite thing is just pick flowers (sigh).

Yes I am actually, I a little slow on the uptake on this one as I didn't realize how many different different areas/worlds/scenarios/quest/public quests, trainer quests, realms vs realms, player vs player that were out there. Not to mention the abilities, skills, agra, emoticon?, auctions, mail, buddy links, toughness rating damage rating, influence.

oh and the best part? killin' Orcs. :)

Ah thanks! I feel old as crap too. I spent almost my entire birthday cleaning up damage from the tornado today and my back is killing me! I even sound like an old fart now heh.

Hope your still enjoying Warhammer speci, you seem to be getting the hang of it pretty fast for a first timer. I still remember the first time I played WoW and was taken away by all.
