Posted - Feb 26 2008 : 10:54:16 So I'm crouching, slowly, getting closer to the corner of the building, I hear my opponents' foot steps coming closer and closer and I'm getting ready to ambush him when he appears....and then ....it happens..... Dirtbag knifes me in the back!!!
@#^$#^%@(()#*$@^%!!
So......any suggestions on a good 3d headset?
I'm thinking that this may be a good one... http://us.creative.com/products/product.asp?product=16618&campid=20445&WT.cg_n=Campaigns&WT.mc_id=8866

Posted - Jan 27 2009 : 18:08:07 seems pretty cool. They don't ship until mid april? Wasup wid dat? I went ahead and just ordered the Razer since I have a Razer card. Might have less problems. If not happy, might try those new gadgets.. |

I edited the link on my last post. If gives a better description.
Their website says that the sound actually travels down tubes from the top of your head to the front and rear of your ear to give a 3d sound.
Notice on the Video? , they are playing COD |

Posted - Jan 27 2009 : 17:20:09 Those are pretty cute Spec. However, I don't have a brain so the speakers across the top wouldn't do anything for me! |

Posted - Jan 27 2009 : 17:16:34 I like my AX51 Heatset. It does take a bit of work tuning through your sound card EQ to set them up. The next set (God forbid I start twirling in my chair and rip the cord out) will most likely be these....

I'm already secretly working on the speech to the wife explaining how this is a justified purchase. |

Posted - Jan 27 2009 : 16:09:11 I love the wireless set I have. It's not true surround like the Barracuda I had, but the wireless is what I'm into. Really good sound for game and music.

Posted - Jan 27 2009 : 14:43:39 So Spec and BP, did you guys ever get this worked out? I'm going to get a new headset although I would much rather try to find a True 5:1 headset with microphone-WIRELESS! I don't know if they make that but I'm still looking.
I did get my razer card in last week. Has to be better than that piece of crap I have now. |

Posted - Mar 07 2008 : 06:58:32 Unbelievable....
The leads were mislabeled. The microphone tag was on the Center speaker lead and visa versa. Now that the mic is plugged into the center speaker and center into the mic all works as designed....EXCEPT, now I get constant static!
My cheap stereo set is crystal clear. No matter what I do; reboot, set volume controls, mic boost, no mic boost, mic boost w/50% mic strength, STATIC. WTF
They must be returned. If the next set works, great. If not, I'll move on.

Posted - Mar 06 2008 : 06:40:20 Here's the update: Their web site verbiage is wrong; they probably did a cut/paste where they shouldn't have No drivers are needed. All speakers in my headset are working fine. I mis-cabled a cable. Microphone is dead as a doornail. Nothing I do gets it working. My old stereo headset mic works fine so it's not the sound card or Vista.

Posted - Mar 05 2008 : 11:37:54 Thats wierd because on the same support page if you click "Does the AX51 have any drivers it states:
quote: The AX51 requires no drivers, it relies on the sound card having the correct drivers installed.
Aso there are no drivers of any kind listed in their Download page.
OH WAIT WHICH VERSION DO YOU HAVE: I see the TRI-UA512 [USB] does require drivers and is on their down loads. The TRI-AJ712 [audio jacks] does not require drivers. I hope you have the audio jack version as you will have a problem with the Creative 5.1 sound card and the USB. |

Posted - Mar 05 2008 : 10:25:23 oh...take a read from Tritton web site
Q:The headsets play great, however I cannot get the microphone to work. A:Ensure that you have installed our drivers, as it is required to use the microphone. Also ensure that under both the control panel sound settings, and also the C-media control panel, that the correct microphone is selected as your recording device.

Posted - Mar 05 2008 : 08:05:44 They would mean drivers for your sound card as there would be no drivers just for the head set. Some headsets that have built in memory for rumble do have drivers. |
