Posted - Oct 06 2005 : 07:09:35 Just wondering if your clan is planning on keeping the 1.03 patch on your server. Our clan leader has decided not to upgrade since he is having issues.
Problem is, I am not have any issues (except not everything was fixed) and don't plan on switching back.
Like playing with OMO, like to stick around for a bit while everything gets sorted out.

Posted - Oct 08 2005 : 10:38:43 Keeping the chinese and arabic language going in your ears is a good way to keep track of which side you are on.
I've also found it is useful playing MEC or Chinese so you can hear the American yelling "Grenade! Frag Grenade!" just before he blows your silly ass up. Gives you a couple seconds of running time. |

Posted - Oct 08 2005 : 08:55:16 I agree Bypass. I've started doing just that but since we switch after each round, I hardly know what uniform I'm wearing :( I catch myself heading to the wrong flag once in awhile. I think I have AADD. |

Posted - Oct 07 2005 : 18:47:45 I hate to take away from cannon fodder Dan but Cath I am the dog you shot down for saving your life. You guys need to start recognizing uniforms in case something like a name does not come up first. I learned that a long time ago in Ghost Recon. |

Posted - Oct 07 2005 : 05:13:39 My ping is usually 30-40 on the game server. Every once in a while I get pings in the 100+ area, and they won't go away until I reboot and even then it might take awhile to come down. It seems it's been since I've used Ventrillo. But I can't confirm that for sure. As an admin you don't get kicked for high ping and gameplay doesn't seem to be botherd too much by a higher ping. I alway's quit and reboot however. I don't want the server to slow because of me. I agree Heart. a good game of DC would be fun! |

Posted - Oct 06 2005 : 18:52:41 Yea, plenty to find on a quick google search. Take a look at this one for instance.

My wife keeps up with it more than I do but, basically, all of Adelphia's customers will be picked up either by ComCast or TimeWarner. At least here in the South East.
Here's another link for ya.

I'm beginning to see another issue here besides the 1.03 patch. See if I try covering you guys anymore. :) Anyways, I have Adelphia cable as an ISP and they're going bankrupt. Generally my pings are pretty good but they spike a lot, enough that I get ping kicked a bunch. It didn't happen so much until we started using ventrillo but, my computer barely meets minimum specs too so i'm sure that doesn't help me any. We just signed up for Alltel DSL and should have it by the end of the month. They have a good rep around here so, hopefully, that'll help.
I have Adelphia Cable in Southern CA and I regularly test my connection at www.dslreports.com. Almost always get about 4000d/400u speeds. I didn't know they were going bankrupt...do you have a news release on that for me to check out? |

My issue has been my comp crashing. I've had to reinstall my video card 3 times since installing the patch. I'm trying different video settings and really have no lag or color issues. It just dies once and again and hard to get back up.
You know, I really miss DC. Maybe we all should crank up ole DC one night and go a few rounds...
Tried that also, no difference. We are both running PCI Express ATI 800's.
I second DC. Can't wait for some BF2 Mods. Got some great ones showing promise on the horizon.

Posted - Oct 06 2005 : 14:18:44 My pings last night were where they usually are, in the 70s. Actually felt my load time was a little better than usual (and I have some major load times).
Anyway, my 2 cents. |

Posted - Oct 06 2005 : 13:14:10 Cath,
I forgot a vital peace of info, we tried it on a non-public server first. There was only 4 (CFH) of us testing out the new patch. He was the only one with the issues. The rest of us had normal pings and no game issues. He can also duplicate the problem on other servers. Seems like the patch does not like his computer configuration. Weird, except for the mobo we are running very simular computers. |

Posted - Oct 06 2005 : 13:04:31 Target it doesn't necessary mean it was him. Anyone (or 2) on the server would cause PB to have verifying issues and cause high pings. If he just happened to have a borderline connection it might hurt him the most. I have terrible connection problems and I think it's my ISP but my pings are between 51-75 most of the time. We had some questionable players one night and as I was watching the player list in bf2cc, which is the admin interface, it was going from player to player and causing each person to show in the 200+ neighborhood. |
