Just wondering if your clan is planning on keeping the 1.03 patch on your server. Our clan leader has decided not to upgrade since he is having issues.

Problem is, I am not have any issues (except not everything was fixed) and don't plan on switching back.

Like playing with OMO, like to stick around for a bit while everything gets sorted out.

Later, CFH:Target

I haven't seen any issues yet. I did notice right after I installed it on my pc, I went to a ranked server to get my promotions and at least 1 out of 7 team mates had red over them. I got 3 team kills in 2 rounds and figured that was enough.

I also noticed everytime I spawned I couldn't sprint. Found out I was spawning in the kneeling position. That was weird. I had to go prone and then get up and I could sprint. Got killed a lot trying to fugure that out. After I quit that server and went to another it didn't happen, either one the red tags or the kneeling thing.

You are welcome here any time and no I don't see any reason to not use the patch. I think game play is much better.

Main problem he has is high unstable pings. Game is also very laggy for him to the point he can't play.

He's not alone, according to EA's forums a few others have this problem. However, it doesn't seem to be a wide spread issue.

Cath, according to the EA forums, the red tag issue seems to be worse with this patch. Your not alone!

I'm sure I'll be able to drag over a few CFH from time to time. What are you guys using for communication?

We are currently using ventrillo (the older free version) for BF2.

I also find it very disturbing that you're going to play on our server more often.. you kill me too much!!!!

Curious. Last night I had an issue with someone on the same team not having their tag at all. I thought they were Spec Ops for the opposing team and shot them. Of course, that is when I got punished for TKing them as well... go figure. I have not noticed team members being red tagged tho.

That's pretty much what happened to me Petri. I saw a bunch a guys without any tag and when I started shooting it showed as red. Then it showed I TKed someone. I never noticed it on any other server. This was a server I jumped on to see if I got promotions after the patch install.

I did kill LtDan last night after he stot a guy on the oppisite side of me. I was taking hits and spun around to see a guy with no tag shooting towards me. I blasted him and LtDan said he saved my life and I shot him like a dog. I think the tag thing is still a problem.

Target don't want this to sound like I'm accusing anybody but a sudden high ping is one of the signs that someone on the server is using hacks. I got some info from our server tech at Datsgamingservers and he said the high ping is cus PB can't verify a player and continually makes request that slows the server down. Also he said when you get near someone and your video starts going crazy and jumping it cus it can't verify exactly where that person is because he's using hacks. I'm sure the 1.03 patch makes it worse.

I can assure you this guy does not use hacks. I'd bet my life savings on it, all $15 of it He uninstalled BF2, reinstalled up to patch 1.02 with no issues. Installs 1.03 high ping and lag issues come back. Installed all the latest drivers as well.

When he uses ping plotter, the pings are normal, but in game they are through the roof, game play suffers as a result.

I've seen others on the EA site with the same issues.

The "no tag" is also an issue being reported on EA's site. Mostly associated with this patch.

Maybe I'll see some of you all tonight!

Just a little feedback from me...
I've been playing on OMO for about a week, and you guys always pinged below 100.
Last night, I was pinging between 500 and 700 after patch.
I thought it was just me, but my brother was having the same problem. Granted, we're both on the same network.

Target it doesn't necessary mean it was him. Anyone (or 2) on the server would cause PB to have verifying issues and cause high pings. If he just happened to have a borderline connection it might hurt him the most. I have terrible connection problems and I think it's my ISP but my pings are between 51-75 most of the time. We had some questionable players one night and as I was watching the player list in bf2cc, which is the admin interface, it was going from player to player and causing each person to show in the 200+ neighborhood.

Cath,

I forgot a vital peace of info, we tried it on a non-public server first. There was only 4 (CFH) of us testing out the new patch. He was the only one with the issues. The rest of us had normal pings and no game issues. He can also duplicate the problem on other servers. Seems like the patch does not like his computer configuration. Weird, except for the mobo we are running very simular computers.

My pings last night were where they usually are, in the 70s. Actually felt my load time was a little better than usual (and I have some major load times).

Anyway, my 2 cents.

btw: pretty sure I killed dan last night too for firing over my shoulder. He fired, I jumped in my seat, spun around and unloaded into his chest. Was messy.

It might be the video settings causing him issues. He might try setting everything in video on Med and turn of some of the candy.

My issue has been my comp crashing. I've had to reinstall my video card 3 times since installing the patch. I'm trying different video settings and really have no lag or color issues. It just dies once and again and hard to get back up.

You know, I really miss DC. Maybe we all should crank up ole DC one night and go a few rounds...

Tried that also, no difference. We are both running PCI Express ATI 800's.

I second DC. Can't wait for some BF2 Mods. Got some great ones showing promise on the horizon.

I'm beginning to see another issue here besides the 1.03 patch. See if I try covering you guys anymore. :) Anyways, I have Adelphia cable as an ISP and they're going bankrupt. Generally my pings are pretty good but they spike a lot, enough that I get ping kicked a bunch. It didn't happen so much until we started using ventrillo but, my computer barely meets minimum specs too so i'm sure that doesn't help me any. We just signed up for Alltel DSL and should have it by the end of the month. They have a good rep around here so, hopefully, that'll help.

I have Adelphia Cable in Southern CA and I regularly test my connection at www.dslreports.com. Almost always get about 4000d/400u speeds. I didn't know they were going bankrupt...do you have a news release on that for me to check out?

Yea, plenty to find on a quick google search. Take a look at this one for instance.

http://www.millervaneaton.com/h20050808AdelphiaUpdateAug.pdf

My wife keeps up with it more than I do but, basically, all of Adelphia's customers will be picked up either by ComCast or TimeWarner. At least here in the South East.

Here's another link for ya.
