Posted - Dec 28 2006 : 07:55:51 This is about the exploit that has been used and is becoming all to common place, by placing a spawn beacon on the roof of a building. The BCO Founders talked about it a week or so ago and wanted to just kinda go with the flow. However, with the use becoming common place and the way it ruins a fine game, we can no longer allow it to go on.
It is fair to call it the OMO Roof Spawn Tactic, as OMO are the ones I see using it over and over. I have played round after round on many other servers and I almost never see it anywhere. I see it almost every time OMO is on the BCO servers.
From today forward, the tactic (or rather exploit) of placing a spawn beacon on a roof is not allowed on the BCO servers. If the roof of a building is accessible by ladder, flag spawn, or other means (jumping to it, etc) then the rule does not apply. You may also still place spawn beacons near a building to land on the roof, but you must leave the beacon in an accessible place (i.e. on the ground or a high surface accessible via ladder, etc).
The same Warn/Kick/Ban rule applies here, so if you are spawning on a roof spawn beacon, you can be first warned, then kicked, then banned. If a squad is warned, it applies to all on the squad. Each person that keeps spawning there will be kicked after the warning is given.
We really did not want to have to make this a rule, but it's just not a fair way to fight. It's become almost worse than the Uncap camping that has occurred in the past with BF2. |

Posted - Jan 26 2007 : 12:22:36 DC was so much fun..They were so massive that you could actually hide and rain havoc as there was no radar to spot you. Snipers with 50 cals. were a pain in the arse. we really need to do this... |

Anyway, DC did have some very enjoyable aspects of gameplay we haven't seen for a long time. Maybe it is time for a revisit.

Posted - Jan 26 2007 : 09:53:36 I haven't played for over 3 weeks. It's funny that during the day I'm thinking about the different maps and different strategy. For some reason I keep thinking about DC maps. We need to all get together in a couple weeks when I get my new comp up and running and play some DC.....truly the best BF MOD. I WANT TO SHOOT THE SCUD!!!!!!!! |

Posted - Jan 25 2007 : 11:26:50 As far as the roof thing goes you CAN be on the roof so long as there is not a spawn becon up there with you. It really dosn't matter to me cuz if someones up there they can't take any flags.
We miss you guys!! Well aleast my knife dose. Hope to see you guys on your or our servers

Posted - Jan 25 2007 : 10:35:50 KayJay has been trying to get Saturday's "1942 Day", the server IP is on our front page. Stop on by.
Last Saturday we finally got enough people on to play, I must say we had a blast, funny thing was that a few outsiders joined in also. |

Fudro, does that mean you have both the 1.6 and 1.6b patch? last time i loacked, er looked, that's all you would need. bots are unnecessary... |

Posted - Jan 25 2007 : 07:02:25 Not trying to go too far off track, and seeing that most are playing something other than 2142, you guys want to play a little 1942, maybe even a friendly scrim? |

Posted - Jan 25 2007 : 06:05:17 Boy, youse guys are a sensitive bunch! If you want your true intent to come through, when using the written word, then one must use those silly emoticons, that's why they were created.
If you do this, no one will misconstrue your intentions.
So play nice kids, use emoticons, and continue your scintillating discourse! |

OMG,
Relax.
I did notice you on the 1942 server and it was fun.
I only play a couple rounds at night, so I just don't see you guys that much I guess.
I was making a joke. I guess I have to spell out my jokes here.
No harm meant.
I will stop posting over here. I will let Tread and Burns do the posting for us. I don't want to make any jokes and have someone take it the wrong way again.
"Relax"... this coming from the person who initiated this thread with threats against the OMO's. You expect your posts to be taken seriously in one regard, and then humerously in the next, but the tone of the posts is consistent. I had honestly moved on, and I will again, but your most recent post appeared to have the intent of stirring the pot, which unfortunately it did. |
