They just said that 12% believed he was muslim.

It's interesting how figures look, how about this instead:

Almost 90% of the Repubilicans believe Obama IS NOT A MUSLIM.

"I guess you would think a little different if it depicted the dead bodies of 4000 servicemen in a pile with George Bush standing on top with a banner behind him stating "Mission Accomplished" all the while singing his favorite song "Stay The Corse" Your words.

That offends me that you would use the servicemen to get accross your point. The mag was done by liberals and it was to show what they think Conservatives think of obama and his wife. For you to use service men is what is offending.

Have you EVER gone to the funeral of a serviceman that gave his all. Your comment I take to heart as I have gone and stand watch to make sure that protesters did not take that Honorable moment for the family away. You compair 4,000 dead servicemen and women with George Bush standing and singing to what someone put on the cover of a magazine.

Do you have no respect no honor to stoop that low. Yes these are hard words and I am sorry but you crossed the line.

I have tried 3 times to reword this to be nicer but this is what comes out from my heart. Call me heartless if you want, I can take what ever you call me but do not refer to our servicemen and women that gave their all. That is all I ask

Bif, it's all about content and taking things out of contex that you seem to do a lot. Yes it was offensive and if you read the last few lines you would have seen I stated that very FACT:

quote:
You see that would greatly offend me also but I wanted to make the point that its all about how you look at things and which side it's comming from.

You don't have a monopoly on being a Vet as I am one also and have attended several funerals of friends lost. I have just as much respect and honor as you do.

I was trying to demonstrate to you that other people are offended by such things as you were. You are a passionate Vet supporter and I respect you for it. You felt anger for what I was demonstrating and ATTACKED me for it. Don't you think that other people have the same right to feel the same passion for their views or is there only one view.

Anyone know why Obama is not funny? More to wit: why you can't make a funny about him?

Perhaps he takes himself far, far too seriously.

I still think that to use the 4000 service men pilled up with George Bush on top singing was way out and I, myself would never compair a that to a mag cover. The cover was intended, according to the
news to be a joke depicting what what conservatives think about obama. You have that right to express that if you want and compair apples to jellyfish if you want.

As for being in service, and a veteran, I thank you for your service but to even compair that way is not in anyway good taste.

It's not about comparing apples to jellyfish.

It's about people responding to what they feel is crap being posted here, without being chastised or being told to grow some skin.

Expired's post also offends Expired, but he posted it to make that point.

it's Arcane's fault.
in an appeal toward civility in these tumultous times, he appears to
have started a thread that has been de-railed, hi-jacked, and all-around
abused. i think he should have to personally close the thread now . . .

Pfft... no way I'm closing this down. One thing you come to know about OMO... there is a cycle to everything. Most of the time it's the boring cycle. Then every now and then, well like voting season... it turns into a topic fest! You can come here three or four times and find brand new posts to get you pissed off and raise your blood pressue. Man... nothin like it after a long dry spell.

Novus Ordo Seclorum

Knowledge is power... has been since time eternal. Arcane knowledge is thereby ultimate power and can
therefore lead to ultimate corruption. Wisdom (and the experience that comes with age) is a serum for corruption.
Perhaps that is why there are so many Old Men with Arcane knowledge and so few young ones...
