Ok everyone. I now own CoD5. I am currently out of town but I will be on to play Saturday. Hope others are around to give me some tips as I am sure it isn't that similar to CoD4. Looking forward to shooting everyone real soon.

It's more similar than not, user screen, customizable slots and perks are pretty much all the same.

Have friends list now, tanks on a few maps, machine guns with deployable bibods, arty instead of airstrikes, dogs instead of helo.

Ok, my wife came through and got me CoD5, I'll be installing it once I get room on my Hard drive, I think wiping 25gigs of Conan should do the trick.

Petri, my wife is a gamer but playes xbox 360, I'll be playing left for dead with her for bit before I jump into the fray of CoD5

Hey! I don't upgrade my comp every time I get the urge! I've, I was told that 75gig would last me a life time and I'm going to prove them right!

btw I played Cod5 last night for bit, is it me or are all the servers laggy? feels the same as CoD4 but with less cool weapons.

Give me a My MMOP any day of the week vs a FPS.

Is there a server we use? I'll jump on anyway just to pump a few rounds into speci for old times sake!

The biggest grip I have with CoD5 is the same as CoD4, the spawning. There is no real direction to the game. People spawn every where once the game starts. I've been running with my own team and the enemy spawns in between us and knifes us all. That's just too disorganized for me. At least with BF2 you knew they were going to spawn at their flag or a squad leader.

I end up running one direction and dying, then run another direction and die. And the radious needs to be bigger around the flag you are capturing.

MMOP?

The spawning behind you; next to you; between you, gets old fast when you have only a dozen + playing. I've noticed the spawning seems better managed with larger numbers of players than with a medium amount. I think the game calculates a "density" pattern based off of where the players are and spawns according to that. If the are a dozen or so players, the density calculation gets wonky while fewer does not matter and over 20 seems more balanced out. Other than the spawn points not always making sense, the game is fun to play.

Dome, however, is a nightmare if your spawn position on the balcony gets surrounded since there is only one spot you can spawn once the enemy is near the other points. It then becomes one big gank fest.

Yup, spawning is funky at times, but I don't find it overwhelmingly troublesome like some others.

I'm sure the patch will fix it.

Having said that, with some of the larger maps, you could easily create far away spawn points.

Plenty of moaning and groaning about it on the CoD forums, maybe CoD6 or 7 will address it.
